Set in an alternate modern day world, New York has been over run by a selection of small town gangs over the spand of many years. The populas of the city has ignored the infestation for the most part, as the gangs seem to be geared toward each other and turf wars. Albatross located near the docks, Droogs being the subway and sewage systems, Set 187; geared toward the projects and boondocks and Omega V; situated in the suburban areas and uptown, these four gangs have been waring on and off for as long as they can remember.

With the happenings of previous years events, much of the leading ranks has changed hands. New leaders have grown more ruthless with their rule while some areas have backed down only to ward off any attacks to their people and their turfs.

If you like the classic movie Warriors you'll enjoy this take on the classic as you choose you side. Think you got what it takes to defend your turf?

The Code: Rules

Some quick rules to get things outta the way. Follow them to the letter and all will be fine. We just want to have good clean fun so on with the rules.
  • There will be mild screening for this game but its up to the first five that I pick to do the screening after that. *wink*
  • Remember all characters must be 18 and older.
  • No god-mode (we all hate it)
  • This game is rated "M" for mature meaning if you are easily offended...leave! (Yes that means a lot of controversal topics may be brooched).
  • No discrimination
  • No Flaming
  • Use this thread to flesh out any character or plot ideas. Keep the ooc chatter out of the main thread.
  • This is an ADVANCED arpee. And a LONG TERM arpee if you sign up please do so for the long run. Thanks
  • Proper English is required. So yes, dot your i's and cross your t's.
  • Try to keep the one-liners to a minium if you can. If all esle fails simply do not post.
  • NPCs: Everyone is allowed to set up plots using NPCs. If you have permanent NPCs essential to your character development please make that apparent in the thread so everyone will know and understand.
  • I may or may not join in the actual thread but I will be here to get it started.
  • When making a character don't make them all knowing and overbearing. Try to be realistic.

Droogs: The Underground

...the Crowd...
Misfits, runaways, delinquents, gypsies, orphans, homeless, anarchists. The dregs of the city. Those who society wanted nothing to do with and those who wanted nothing to do with society have found a home with The Droogs. The underground of Bartswarth was a place of random crime and violence. Out of this chaos formed small gangs that protected their members from one another. Over time these gangs assimilated each other, thus creating The Droogs. Now the underground has become a safe haven for the impoverished and the unwanted, the gang ruling over it like their own private kingdom with a strict brand of street justice.

A tight bond has formed between members, often stronger then ones biological family. This is due to the fact that many members have no family, the gang is their family. They are fiercly territorial, heavily regulating who is allowed into their domain and who is not.

As a side note, a strange slang known as Nadsat (click ) has formed amongst the Underground, popular amongst the youth and older gang memebers (no one has to use it but if they would like to I think it would be cool).

...Status...
Very territorial. They have a tight bonds amongst each other and do not like it when rival gangs or outsiders come into their turf showing disrespect. Pay the toll and you'll be left alone as they try to stick with the old ways and keep the Blood Oath alive. Don't pay the toll and expect to be dealt with quick and easy.

...Freight Yards...
Mostly situated in open areas outside of the city, the Frieght Yards are consider a sanctuary to the Droogs. They live within the freights and cargo trians that have been scrapped by various frieght companies. Sometimes, frieght trains roll through the yards but it would seem not many make it out as the Droogs are quick take claims of the train and its cargo.

...Subways...
The Droogs are mostly named for their domination over the subway stations and underground routes and sewer areas. Because of this, the Droogs can pretty much travel all over the city. While they are of the few that still follow the blood oath they are very sneaky when it comes to raiding someone else's turf as they slip under the surface and travel to their destination. Once there they resurface loot and plunder then quickly slip under the surface to return home.

...Sewage...
Like the subway areas, the sewers are their place of transportation. The droogs being rather creative have interesting transportation units situated in the sewer system for quick escape. No one knows the details of this system but many rival gangs want to get their hands on it, so its logical to fight for the turf of which the Droogs control in order to rest such inventions from them. The biggest concern in the sewer are the Droog sentries which are strategically scattered about to watch for any suspicious characters or acts againts their clan.

Set 187: The Ghetto

...the Crowd...
187 deals with the slums and the ghetto crowds. Most kids living with a single parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle or sibling. They dont' have much home training or discipline for that matter and often get into trouble. Due to this, their home environment is less then pleasant so they look to the streets for the love they can't find at home.

While a good majority of 187's members have homes, a fraction of that amount do not. As all families should be the 187 Set treat all their crew members with love and if they don't have a home, they'll most likely be stashed away in the boondocks with their own apartment or an abandaned home fashioned with stolen goods, foods and so on.

While family values is what this group lives off of don't let the friendly nature fool you as Set 187 has been in the game longer than anyone. They are an old hustler's group probably the start of the turf wars since they used to dominate a lot of territory back in the day. As time progress the Set calmed down and have become less territorial toward other areas, just keeping up with the shit they already have.

Coming up in their hood unannounced will get you killed without warning. Being that the Set has a lot of older veterans that play the game by the old rules. Attack and ask questions later, a lot of older members are very territorial and are often station on the perimeters of their turf while the new bloods are in the middle taking care of business according to the new code.

The one thing the Set tends to be feared for is their unearthly ability to hide in the shadows, having traveled alleyways and backways to get to their destinations and due to their clan colors being simply black, they are easily mistaken for shadow like folks, poppin out at any given moment unannouced. Easy to see why they are so feared cause they have a large set to begin with and most half of that set is living in the shadows, they don't ever come out unless a true battle is to be waged.

...Status...
Territorial and violent. This crowd is not to be taken lightly, despite a few ups and downs amongst their ranks they are highly territorial and over the top. If you disrespect them, they will retaliate in full. Close bonds are tried and true here though there are a few shakey characters in the group, be advised, stick to the high grounds and pay your toll. Going to the boonies or places outta the way will not guarentee your safety. If you refuse to pay the toll, expect a delay in your travel. One of the few groups that stick to the old ways of the Blood Oath.

...School Yards...
187 loves to hold down the school yards. You can often find a group of them just chillin on the basketball courts, bleechers or what have you. Often they are drinking or smoking, blasting their boombox music loud and dancing the night away. Most school yards are fenced off with barbed wire and the like or security guards are plastered about, this doesn't stop them as they have the utensils needed to clip the wire, knock out the guard and continue with their fun.

...Liquor Stores...
As all ghettos tend to have, liquor stores are the hot spots to be. Most all Set 187 members are stationed at various stores to keep an eye out for rival gangs trying to hit up their stores without permission. Because there are so many liquor stores throughout the ghetto you can bet you'll find a member of Set 187 eventually.

...Boondocks & Projects...
Your typical old slum apartments fenced off areas and abandoned buildings and the like, most all 187 members are sitting on the stoops of their homes, as most of them tend to live in the same apartment complex or within the area. Aside from that most all other members are situated in old abandoned homes where they've claimed for themselves, these abandoned homes are often fashioned for the homeless members so they won't be completely without shelter.

...Parks & Playgrounds...
There aren't very many parks in the ghetto, save for the small playground areas with a single basketball court of which to play on. These areas are privy to 187 as well, considering they fit perfectly for the usual makeout spot. Hey they gotta multiply some kinda way right? 187 is very heated about keeping their small parks and playgrounds under lock and key from rival gangs, as these areas tend to be the first line of defence before entering their territory completely.

Albatross:The Docks

...the Crowd
The sea lover's paradise, the docks are where its at. Most crowds that fester here are of the sea loving crowd or at least they like the view more or less. They come from families with mony and some without, pretty much on the cusp of the suburbian and ghetto lifestyles. There are very few homeless or society stricken persons that deal with this crowd but if they do, its easy to see that they have the means of taking care of their own.

Most often this crowd deals with the strip which is connceted to the suburb. As a means of lessening conflict the strip ends at the Docks and continues on into the harbor which is Albatross territory. This crowd tends to have boat homes, or homes along the harbor and beach areas. There is also a cliffside with a cave of which this crowd claims for their own.

...Status...
Territorial, daredevils. This group likes the thrill of a challenge and can often be found skipping the docks to search out trouble in other territories. They like to challenge themselves to new highs so if traveling this way, bring lots of toll for they might not let you pass. Or you could challenge them in a fair fight and earn a little credit among their clain for the next visit. Just the same, they are very watchful of their turf and won't take kindly to insults. One of the only clans whose leader is also the founder.

...Warehouses...
The warehouses on the docks are all locked down, while nothing happens during the day, at night, meetings, brawls and get togethers are abundant in these areas. Because they line the sea, a lot of swimming takes place in the harbor. Another interesting note are some treasures that often fall into the harbor, only the Albatross can do much treasure hunting since they have the scubba gear and boats necessary for the job.

...the Strip...
Broken off from the suburb's strip, the dock's strip continues on into the harbor where there are sea side hotels, eatries, shopping centers and much more. Basic good shops though not expensive but obviously not cheap. At night the strip is alive with festivities for incoming crusie liner guests and staff. (remember alternate reality)

...Fishing Decks...
Well what's a harbor without fishing, the decks are set up to bring in the fishing boats. During the day most all is calm but at night these boats are often rummaged through to check for food or any form of cargo that might benefit the Albatross.

Omega V: The Suburbs

...the Crowd
This is the in crowd as most gangs consider them. Coming from families with money they are often looked upon as a group of ungodly luck. Though luck never was the case with them. They come from families of status often more worried about image and their money then the well-being of their children. With this lack of family value, most of them look to the streets for the recognition they deserve.

In the streets these kids start at an early age among the group, learning the ropes and proving themselves to no one but themselves. It isn't until later down the road that they are tossed into battles with rival gangs to prove to the world what they are made of.

This group isn't as lofty or less violent then the others they tend to take things a little over board in their need to show that people with money have just as much to prove as those without. Its more or less a case of mistaken identity for lack of a better phrase.

...Malls...
As is, the malls are an ideal hangout joint during the day. Most of the malls are situated around the suburban areas and outskirts of those areas. So the Omeaga V were quick to claim these grounds, at night they can often be found watching their turf as they tend to keep looters and blunder's away from their territory.

...Clubs...
Most clubs are either owned by a member's parential figure or the member, of them Ao is infamous for owning a rather upbeat club which he takes no crap from outsiders. Because the clubs are scattered about, a large party area has been formed which is known as the strip. This strip travels the length toward the Docks merging with the Albatross crew, some kind of deal has been struck to minimize conflict as the strip ends where Albatross territory begins.

...Parks & Playgrounds...
Like the ghetto, the suburbs have their share of parks and playgrounds, however they are little better kept. With gardens and flowers, trees and clean grounds children are often found playing here during the day. At night differnet kids play at these grounds defending their turf from outsiders.

...School Yards...
The school yards are safe haven for the younger crowd of Omega V, they tend to chill here both after school druing the day and at night to do whatever nonesense thats on their mind. Drugs more or less... these school yards are in the upper east side away from the public schools of the ghetto.

New Blood

If you're looking to join in on the fun then look no further. Below is a template which you can copy and past in your post. Be sure to fill out the template as best you can so we can all get a better understanding of your character. You don't have to wait for approval, but expect some commenting on your entry if we find your character to be a little too unorthodox for this game.

Neutral Recruits: Sorry but no neutral parties. I want people to join a group, any group doesn't matter but you must be apart of a group. No acceptions!

Name:
Nickname:
Age:
Occupation: (outside of being a gangster)
Gang Affiliation:
Weapon(s): (no guns)
Personality:
Appearance:
Background:
Word on the Street: (what rumor is spreading that other gangs should know about your character?)

So sue me...

Okay so yeah, boredom brought this on and I'm not even going to really play in it. At least I have no desire currently but I might go ahead and play if someone shows enough interest.

This is basically a thread set up for those that like the gangster setting. This isn't the usual Triad, Yakuza, Italian Mafia type thread though. Its more of a bunch of punks and old school gang bangers, a few rift raft of the city and other vagabonds that got it in their heads that the only place they can amount to anything is on the streets.

Some of them have good lives, others not so good. Take the time to read which group is more to your liking for a character. As for leaders being choosen for these groups you really gotta wow me with some kind of concept with your character. So don't just sign up expecting to be the leader.

Once leaders are choosen its up to them to move their group in various ways. PM or chat here I dont' care but this is more of a group project then you'd expect. But don't let all the writing get to you. Its just as much a story is it is an adventure.

People living every day lives, working that nine to five only to learn that a close friend may have overdosed on a rival gangs drug for pushing on their turf. Maybe someone got beat down for mouthing off. Or someone's girl was givin' a good old fashion train ride just for kicks. You can do any number of things.

As for the 'no guns' rule, its put into play to hold off the usual god moders. We dont' need people shooting others just cause. Why not go the way of the fists, or bats with nails in them. Two by fours, shives, chains, pot lids... hell anything that takes a little effort to put an instant kill on ya.

And perhaps later, the big wigs of gangster-dom may pop up. Like Mobsters and mafia men... who knows. But I sorta put this up as an experiement and for fun.

So lets see what happens.

Give it a few more bumps. I thought it was a good idea, maybe too much info for the brain to process..hehe.

No gangsters? Oh well... thought I'd give it a try. Consider this project scrapped then. :p

Awww, NO ONE?!?

Kuu, The link you have for Nadsat doesn't have anything...
Here's the site I used for a college report on ACO.

I would so play in this one... But no one else seems to have an eye on it and that makes me pout.

Alexa "Sadi Stick"

Name: Alexa DeLong
Nickname: Sadi Stick (Sadistic)
Age: 19
Occupation: None.
Gang Affiliation: Droog
Weapon(s):prefers to use the old walking stick she found.
Personality: As her nickname says, Alexa likes to cause pain, even to her friends. Any marks she leaves she calls "love bruises". She has a very strange sense of humor, and is obviously not playing with a full deck...
Appearance: Sadi
Background: Alexa's parents were rather well off... but the money was an immediate effect on their treatment to their daughter. Her mother had no interest in her at all, preferring to spend her time with liquor than any effections to Alexa. Her father only took interest in her after a few drinks himself, either hitting her or being 'too effectionate'. One night, Alexa just snapped... She killed her father and ran away. She's only been a Droog for a few months now, but has shown just how much a fighter she can be.
Word on the Street: Its said that Sadi collects things from those she gets into fights with, that she has a collection of teeth and even fingers... If there's any truth ot that, though, Sadi won't say.

Well nothing I can do unless folks sign up. Like I said I won't play a major part in this. Its more up to anyone wanting to be the leader of either group. Once I got those leaders, then its up to ya'll to recruit people for your team or what not.

I'm just here to monitor and get the story started.
