Hello all! My Master has required me to start a blog detailing my daily life. I thought you all would be interested in this blog, so I decided to post here. Please feel free to follow it and leave comments as you see fit!!!

Thanks!

Personally, I think my daily life is infinitely more interesting.

Get some content going before you invite folk to read-- the internet is spoiled for choice. And DO blog, because journalling is an excellent thing to do-- public or private.

Really? How do you figure?

To the OP: if you want to link to your blog, do so in your profile or signature. And, you know, have stuff to say, not just that you're going to be saying stuff. :D
Good luck with that.

Wait I'm confused. Is the blog supposed to be here, or did Cat edit out a URL? We have plenty of blog URLs on Lit, so I assume she wouldn't have done that...and I assume the OP thinks forum = blog as far too many of them do.

Yeah there was a URL going to a blog saying 'I'll post later hehe' or something equally insubstantial.

But as teknight noted, the "personally identifiable URL or address" was in the post itself, rather than in the sig line, which apparently is permissible.

I could have sworn the rules were about posts only...but I might be wrong on sigs?
ETA:
from the BDSM sticky:
1. No spam / No promoting of other websites.
2. No personals ads (they go here BDSM Personals )
3. No posting of another's personal information
4. No posting of your own private email address
5. No personal threats
6. No posting of copyrighted images

Simple wording. I am wrong on sigs.
Op, don't post a link in your sig either.

Actually the rule covers the forum as a whole, so signatures are included for removal of email addresses and other personal contact or information. Linking to a personal non-commercial website is allowable in signatures under specific guidleines which include size, flashing, pop-ups, viruses etc., and are up to the discretion of the site to remove if deemed inappropriate. Members are also not allowed to use posts or PMs to advertise/promote other websites, and will risk banning (via your ISP server if necessary), if this rule is not respected.:rose:

Actually, this is the rule, and it does specifically state signatures only (emphasis NOT added by me):
7. Please do not blatantly "advertise" for other websites in your signature. We allow non-commercial links to other people's personal websites in sigs, but please do not beg people to click on your link, make it huge and/or flashing, or otherwise be obnoxious.

We do not allow links to any adult pay sites. We also reserve the right to remove signatures which link to sites with numerous annoying pop-ups, viruses, or anything else potentially harmful to people's computers. If you turn your signature into an advertisement, we will ask you to change it. Do not start threads with the URL in the header.

Of course, you can enforce the rules as you see fit, that's the job of a moderator. However, I hardly think the inclusion of a URL in a post, without begging or obnoxiousness, and not a URL for a pay site with or without harmful things, nor with the URL in the header, qualified that post for editing.

If I were applying the rule as you were, I would have gotten rid of this thread, a lot of the links in this thread, etc. long ago. (It's important to remember that the rules apply not only to newbies, but to long-established posters as well, even those whom we consider our friends.) But my reading of the rule is that it is to prevent people using Lit as a revenue-generating source, or being obnoxious about it. The OP was neither, from what I have gathered.

YMMV, just going on similar situations where I checked with Laurel first and was advised to remove, so that is what I do now and have done for several years since being advised to do so. The section of the rules you quoted, from memory is only 1 of 3 which cover these areas. As to removing it long ago, it has only been up soince yesterday, and I came on today after it had been posted after I left to sleep yesterday. And yes, I do not have favourites and have been removing things which breach the rules whenever I am here and have time...unfortunately, while I was away ill, a back log built up so it takes a long time to then check and take care of. By all means, you are welcome as a moderator to help in that regard.

Nope, that's the only relevant section of the rules, I checked. :D

As for long ago, if you read my post, you'd have seen that I was referring to other threads entirely.

And finally, yes, I do quite a bit of moderation here, generally before you've seen it, I guess.

Wow, I expected that to post 5 times with all the trouble my phone was giving me, LOL.
