Has anyone finally had enough of the generic rejection letter after having had your story edited, many times. Have been told it's really good, also many times, and no matter how understanding you can be, you finally just kept submitting it over and over even after it took a full day to be rejected again you just sent it back? If so did it finally post? My story has been posted on other forums but I hated the apps so I unpublished them and finally did here. My reasoning for NOT submitting here first is because I've seen some AWFUL stories on here, only to be stuck on a cliff hanger of good stories while the author is apologizing over and over in comments because they have written the next installment but literotica won't release it. I realize this is a free site, but I'm really not a fan of the people who think they are God and can act in such away because they can. I'm sure I'm sure I'll get told off on here for feeling like this and being so arbitrary considering the amount of others who've more than likely experienced the same, when I asked on another board for suggestions and help, but I don't care. If you've had an issue like this and can offer advice coll, I appreciate it. If you want to tell me my story obviously was shit and make threats at me like several did, then I'm sorry you have such a miserable. Life. Ttfn!

You still haven't told us what the rejection said.

If it's about grammar the usual reason is not following the guidelines on dialogue:

Separate line for each speaker.

All punctuation within the quote marks.

Double quotes at beginning and end.

You have been asked to quote the rejection reasoning so that someone here can have something to work with to help, but you haven't done so.

Yes, I've had a few initial rejections based on a "maybe" scan. Only one had to be changed in any way to eventually post as originally written and that was one that had a fake URL in it. I hadn't realized that even fake ones weren't permitted.

There may be nothing wrong with your story text at all and only a false assumption from a cursory scan is what has held it up. But you can't receive help with even that until/unless you quote what the rejection reasoning was.

No one can give you helpful advice unless you provide more information about your story and why it was rejected. You've given no information. I checked your story submissions list and you have no published stories. So there's no information about you or your stories from which anyone can give you advice.

Ye gods, what a mind full. Doesn't your machine do paragraphs ?
little thoughts:
1. Perhaps the Rules on the 'other forums' are not as tight as Lit ?
2. Yes, there ARE some pretty awefull stories, but that's looking at them through YOUR eyes.
3. When you say "when I asked on another board for suggestions and help" do you mean another board on Lit or somewhere else ?

Care to be a little less 'screamer' and a bit more informative ?

4. He asked on the General Board. He got some predictable responses for that board.

He also was asked on that board to provide the wording of the rejection notice (while complaining that Lit. didn't give him enough information). He hasn't done that.

It could be something as simple as paragraphing.

That's a safe guess, judging by the OP's post. But, in the absence of the specific rejection note, I guess we'll never know. I don't get these people who come asking for advice, bolt on a rant in their opener, and then ignore the chorus singing, "Show us the reasons for rejection, tra la." How hard can it be?

OP, do you want help, or not? Tell us the reasons given. It's not a conspiracy, you're not being singled out, you're not a special case. You've received one of half a dozen generic rejection notices, which you're obviously not addressing. It's not hard, tell us the questions you're being asked, and we can advise what needs to be done.

I'll just add my response to the others; Been here a long time, never received a rejection notice, stories always posted out in a timely manner. I've written gay male, lesbian, transgender, erotic couplings, and other themes — many kinks have been explored w/o rejection.

There comes a time when you have to admit you're doing something wrong. I'm not sure why you haven't provided the rejection info, or info about your story — but without that, it's just a mad rant with no resolution.

In answer to your direct question; No. I'm not fed up with the way Lit is run. I appreciate that there are some common sense guidelines put in place to screen out dangerous over to top smut, and those attempts that don't meet normal technical standards. I also appreciate that Lit is a place one can learn to be a better writer by having access to professional quality stories, volunteer editors and this Forum. It seems you came here for maybe similar reasons?

I just had something returned due to paragraph length. Annoying, but it happens.

But then I just read something posted today that has issues with capitalisation, punctuation, and sentence structure throughout the entire story.

What the fuck?

The submissions aren't read by the editor; they are scanned--and not necessarily at the same depth every day. Don't expect uniformity of scrutiny.

Meh. Put up or shut up. KeithD and Ogg both tried several times to help the fellow, day-um even dolf was being nice. Rant away that's what the GB's for but don't ask for advice and get poutraged when people ask politely for details to help find solutions to your problems. 🤷

@ OP if you're that upset go sling mud at busybody or myself. I like decent banter with witty pisters. The AH they don't like it that much. Go figure. ;):rose:

I just had one rejected because I forgot to add the - EDIT on title.

I apologized and resubmitted with the - EDIT appended to the title and a note for Laurel.

This thread may be of assistance, as it lists most of the rejection notices.

Pasting the rejection message here would allow someone to explain it and perhaps offer some of the finer points not provided in the broad definitions.

Some of those questions may have been reworded since that message.

I've only had one story sent back, and the question asked was confusing. I responded with all the explanation I could think of. It worked, and I don't know why.

The rejection process could explain more than it does.

I've written one story that was rejected because there was some violence that Lit thought might be associated with sexual gratification. I disagreed and never re-submitted it as I liked the story the way I wrote it. Only one other member as ever read it and agreed that the story should remain the way I wrote it. So no one else has ever read it. Moving forward... that story was the catalyst for five more stories in a series that has been received very well here on Literotica. Everything happens for a reason even if we don't understand it. Good luck.

I had a story rejected because my 25 year old character recalled in a single brief sentence beating off thinking about his aunt as a teenager.
I was a new author and did a very poor job on making the rewrite flow smoothly around what had been a key point, but with all of the professionally offended people in the world today, I understood the rationale completely.
It's a small thing in the big picture. They can't afford to be seen as offering underage pornography. Some do gooder would find a cooperative judge to shut it down.

Just play by the rules.
