Ok so I'm alive... sorta. Been working and going to school full time AND planning a wedding. I have 2 essays and speech, and 3 presentations due... FML...

So here's the thread....

{Insert snarky commentary on society here}

A little advice from one who's been married half her life... :eek:

The wedding is really not that important in the grand scheme of things. Some sort of officiant, friends and family and maybe some food and drinks. The rest is just icing on the cake.

Of course, I got married in a circus tent amid tornado warnings so maybe my circumstances aren't quite the same as yours.

I'm marrying my best friend outside on December 21st in a purple dress. My cake is cupcakes iced purple and black. To us, this is just the next logical step lol

Throw in a dog, 'shrooms in the woods and a bouquet on the pavilion's roof and it'll be perfect. :catroar:

Being so close to Xmas, you could play 'Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer' instead of the Wedding March. :D

weddings. i remember mine. a grandiose affair in a grand cathedral with banquet held in a monster hall. my wonderful bride and her matron of honor made the brides dress and the bridesmaids dresses. they were wonderful from what i remember.

the meal was fit for a king and his court and a good time was had by all.

it was not, however, the most important thing in our marriage. children were soon scampering around the castle and became the most important thing to ever happen to a couple in love.

just enjoy each other and be happy together. :rose:

Keep your sanity and have a simple wedding. It's only one day and the marriage, if done right, will last forever. :)

Congrats, and good luck on the rest of the doin's. :rose:

I remember my wedding in December 1973, we wrote our vows and promised "til death do we part." :rose:

Who would have thought she'd live so long? :confused:

LOL! My grandma was born on the 25th actually lol, she hates that song. Our "wedding march" Is going to be Back in Black by ACDC lol. We really don't want to have a "normal" Wedding, I'm pagan and his family is devoutly baptist and conservative.... It should be interesting

Lol I was on the phone with my mother as I was typing. It's the pattern she follows when she calls me. "That's what she said" jokes count as jokes of the dick variety.
