Julian was combing his hair when the call came telling him the Jury had reached their verdict. The jet black hair that reached almost to his waist had become his trademark and it had served him well.
His petite wife Francesca, now in her fifth month of pregnancy slipped up behind him and took the comb away and began to braid it.
"How will it go today Jules...have we won?"
He stared in the mirror a moment before answering.
"I think so."
He straightened his tie...silk... Armani.
Francey smiled.
They'd been married for four years and he'd never lost a case but he always answered her question the same way..."I think so"
She was proud of him. This six foot full blooded Cherokee Lawyer of hers. He'd come a long way from the dilapadated trailer where he and seven siblings had grown up in Oklahoma.
The best criminal trail lawyer in the state, possibly the country it was said. The Democrats had put feelers out about a possible congressional bid...
He turned and kissed her...his face like brushed copper, his eyes clear and gray.
"I have to go."
He was proud of her too.
Francesca Solidad had been a prize many men had vied for.
Dark latin beauty, intelligence, talent...and wealth. Great wealth through her father who owned a large chunk of Puerto Rico.

He said again,
"I'll call you with the verdict."
Duval county Court House, Judge Everett Thomas Court.
"Do you have a verdict?"
"We do your Honor."
Julian put his arm around his client to steady her.
"The defendent will please rise and face the jury."
All eyes in the packed court turned to the woman standing rigidly at the defense table.
"We find the defendent, Lillian Anne Taylor...Not Guilty...on all counts."
The last words were lost in pandemonium...
