Tonight I went out singing. The band I usually sing with had a small gig at an eatery downtown. Anything to get away from the politics. I've done what I could and what will be will be.

Anyway, driving home I damn near ran a pedestrian down. Not to mention a few almost. They were all wearing black and all crossing in the middle of the blocks. Now out in the 'burb's' where it's a quarter of a mile between lights I can almost understand their impatience, or foolhardiness. But in the downtown area that crossings are not all that far apart

The dude I came within inches of mowing down was wearing black shoes, black pants, and a black hoodie. He darted out from between parked cars and but for the grace of God he'd be in the hospital now, if not the morgue. I wasn't going all that fast but he wasn't all that big and the laws of physics apply.

Isn't Orange supposed to be the new 'in' thing?

Growing Older, and Adjusting to the Dark

If you’re over 50, probably not as well as you think, no matter how many carrots you eat. The typical 50-year-old driver needs twice as much light to see as well after dark as a 30-year-old. Yet few of us compensate adequately for the reduction in nighttime acuity that occurs in the aging eye.

Telling them to get off your lawn does not help.

first they take your license, then they take your guns.

Wanna think about your post a little bit sparky? It's well lit downtown, no adjustment required. And probably the only reason I didn't hit the stupid bastard.

You have to scrape the bug guts off your headlamps once in a while.
