Black Hawk Down

I hate disagreeing with Lav, well I don't but either way, but as a friend of mine(Me) once said to a friend(Who was English) who was bitching about historical inaccuracies in Braveheart:

"If I wanted historical accuracy I'd have read a text book, I go to the movies to be entertained"

BUt to all the people who said something along the lines of "Before this movie I had respect for the Military, now I think they're super-duper" I can only say; Read a text book for chrissakes.

Yeah, I suppose but every time I go into a movie "based on a true story" I realize it's hollywoods idea of it which tends to be as accurate as Japanese textbooks. It's why in A Beautiful Mind we don't see Russel Crowe as having sex with other guys or exposing himself in a washroom. It doesn't really bother me I guess.

I think there is a critical difference between the omissions in A Beautiful Mind and Black Hawk Down.

Only problem :I haven't seen jack shit for movies lately.

I think you're right but it's the same idea either way.

You? In the last month and a half I've gotten married, promoted, excommunicated(again) and kicked out of my house. The only movie I've seen recently is Lord of The Rings and I slept through most of it.

I actually work in the town where one of the young men portrayed in the movie grew up. My friend saw the movie sitting next to his parents. She said there was a eerie silence has the crowd filed out of the theater.

I'd be interested to see what you have to say about Vanilla Sky.

Ummm, I've never, ever thought Penelope Cruz was attractive?

Are you serious? She makes me consider full out lesbianism.

Never, ever, ever. She looks like a drag queen. And I ain't attracted to them.
