Black Friday writerly sales 2024

For those interested, there are many Black Friday sales on now for writing software, courses and services.

Of that list, I've only used ProWritingAid, which is 50% off for annual and lifetime subscriptions. I've found it immensely helpful. So much so that I bought a lifetime subscription a few years ago during a similar sale. Unlike Grammarly and others, has settings to tune it for creative writing. Yes, it has AI assistants, but they're limited and you have to choose to use them.

Anyone know of other worthwhile writerly Black Friday sales?

My editor uses ProWritingAid and Grammarly. I have and use Grammarly for spelling and basic grammar but not for anything else. Sometimes, I don't even take all its suggestions on those, but I'll look at the other stuff.

Not from using suggestions to rewrite things. I had one rejection, and I'm sure I used some verboten AI favorite word or phrase a couple of times. But that was all on my own.

Edit: I don't use ProWritingAid's suggestions to IMPROVE my writing.

Been using it on every story since about 2018 and never been flagged for AI.

You can ask it to suggest AI rewrites for sentences but you don't have to accept them any more than you have to accept how many commas it wants to insert.

What is it with grammar checkers and overuse of commas? So. Many. Commas.

It will flag overly complicated sentences, but if you decide to reduce that flag, don't use their suggestion. Just figure out how to fix that on your own.
