Bizarre Dreams

now, no.

but if i wake up at 4 am screaming tomorrow morning, it's gonna be all your fault!

[pre-emptively trout-smacks scalywag]

seriously, though: that's mighty odd. usually, any motion on my part is directly proportionate to my state of wakefulness, excepting the one time i had sex in my sleep. i woke up halfway into it. it's a great way to wake up!

I have had an occasionally reaccurring dream since childhood that someone is taking a pair of nail scissors (you know, the small, sharp, curvy ones) and is slowly cutting away at my skin... Freaks me out every time I have it. *shivers*

you know, i remembered a recurring one i used to have when i was in grade school.

there was an evil scientist in a dark tower (not unlike the mad scientist's from that episode of bugs bunny) who shot you with "something". the "something" was the size of a salt shaker like you see in a diner. when it hit, something black and oily would quickly spring from within, engulfing everything around it and slowly burrow into your flesh, up into your nostrils and mouth, in through the eyelids and around the eyeballs...you get the idea.

phoenix: dude, that's disturbing.

Heh. I am the queen of weird dreams.

I have had many involving cannibalism - where I was the one being eaten. It is quite disturbing to be alive and having your own flesh eaten, even in a dream.

I also frequently have ones involving pregnancy. I'm pregnant, my sisters are pregnant, my friends are pregnant...etc. Usually, it is disatrous.

For a while, I was on medication that would give me incredibly vivid life-like nightmares. That was the worst.

I decided long ago that the most excellent torture would be using a butter knife to saw away at someones throat.

Each layer of skin is peeled away, slowly, almost gently...And then, eventually, you would start to bleed.

Aaagggghhhh!

I dream often, lots, vividly..etc.

My bad reoccuring is the planet destroying aliens..alla time I get this. Since about 8 years old. Lots of variation.

Went and saw War of the Worlds in the theatre earlier - thoughout the whoe movie I was absorbed in it..

I like to torture myself..

I also have "normal" reoccurs, and flying ones too..

Not enough wet dreams tho :)

when i was a kid, my mother owned a convenience store. she'd often send me over to it at night (sometimes after it was closed) to get something for dinner or whatever.

i used to have a recurring dream as a child that i'd been sent over to the store to grab one item or another. when i got into the store the universal (movie production company) monsters would come out of the refrigerator and attack me. there was frankenstein, the wolfman and dracula all clumbering after me.

the absolute worst thing, however, is waking up in the middle of fantastic dream-world sex. i HATE it when i'm having great sex in a dream and then wake up to the garbage truck going down the street or something like that.

my wife once told me about one she had where she was flying around the house on a broom (the kids were young then and she was home with them all day)

There's your answer.

I have a recurring dream that my teeth are literally crumbling out of my mouth. It always wakes me up and I always have to feel my teeth to make sure they're there.

My only other recurring dream is visiting a cemetery--a big old-fashioned scary cemetery--and finding my father buried there. I must add here that my dad is very much alive. It always freaks me out.

Oh, I have this one, too. Once, though, I dreamed about crunching on broken teeth, and the next morning I noticed that I'd managed to grind off a sliver of one of my molars while I slept. Tension, much?

When my mom was a child, she had a recurring dream about being chased by skunks. :)

I had a dream where I litterally came blood last night. Never had that one before. You want to talk about freaked out? :(

Interesting that several people have had the same or similar dream about the teeth. Wonder what's up there?

BG, the cemetery dream is creepy. I think that would freak out a lot of people.

It was awful. The first time I had it, I called my dad as soon as I woke up--just to make sure.

I've heard of this one before. It's known as the sex-bragger's nightmare.

Just kidding TBK. ;)
I knew you were gonna say that.

Seriously though I woke up in a cold sweat. I remember it wasn't painful in the dream, but it was definitely blood. I'm still not sure what it meant, or if I even want to know what it meant. It's eerie that you put this thread up though, last couple night have been full of wierd dreams for me. Maybe it's the alignment of the planets or something.

it's a good thing you did. not to freak you out more, but my grandmother had a dream many years ago that the town doctor died... the next morning, she learned he actually did.

I have a similar dream where my teeth are loose and falling out. When I wake up I'd swear a few are loose and they hurt. I suppose I'm grinding my teeth in my sleep.

I also ahve one recurring dream where I am trying to wake up, more specifically screaming at my wife to wake me up. The reality is I'm like half awake and really trying to scream, but it comes out like a faint moan in real life. It's a wierd state to be in, kinda half dreaming, half awake.

oh... i've had this. when i was a kid, i'd have a nightmare (usually hearing something scratch in the closet or something) and try to scream in my sleep. no matter how hard i tried no sound would come out while in my state of semi-awakeness.
