There's a sketch in the comedy show "Little Britain" featuring an upper-middle class guy and his fiancee with guy's parents. At some point the guy asks his mother for "bitty", and she whips her tit out and gives him a little suck. The polite conversation continues.

The studio audience, and many viewers, I imagine, groan, squirm and giggle nervously during the sketch.

Do you think sucking lactating tits is sexy? disgusting? or just funny, because it's so over-the-top oedipal?

That last one.

I think tits are always sexy.

In the above example I find the humour more in the setting (upper-middleclass people, Brits ignoring the obvious). It would also be funny if the characters were the royal family or the Bushes, but I can't see it being funny if the people are destitute.

Perdita

The sketch sounds funny cause it's over the top, but it's probably not an uncommon desire. There's a lot of pregnant/lactating erotica out there.

And there's a guy in the How To forum asking how to get a girl to start lactating without actually getting her pregnant. You might want to PM him for an expert opinion on the topic. ;)

All that adult baby stuff makes me vaguely nauseous, and this sounds like adult baby.

That being said, I did write a sc-fi story about robotic female sex surrogates and one of the options they came with was "lactation upon arousal". I thought the idea of lactating during sex was pretty hot.

I guess I just like to see my women ooze.

P.S. I'd heard that John D. Rockefeller, the American Robber Baron, used to pay women to wet nurse him in his old age in the belief that it would keep him young.

Yes, but Prime Minister. . .

i love little britain, it's so bloody non-pc and has a dig at the lot... sod it if we aren't allowed to laugh at ourselves and anything else, life's just got too boring and shite for me thank you very much... i work with disabled kids in wheelchairs, guess who their fav character is, and the whole bloody lot of them make their parents or home wardens tune in to lb just to have a laugh at him and with him.

[Note: I have never seen this program, only read this description.]

My analysis (as described) is that the sketch is Over-The Top Politically Correct.

Does anyone remember the debate we had about public breast feeding? The PC response is that one should not object to a necessary biological function. It is not sexual. It is natural.

They have taken that permission to its illogical extreme, and had the family demonstrate the PC-Approved reaction.

I think the funny part is who the joke is really pointed at.

First it appears to make fun of the mother-son for their oedipal conduct.

Then, it appears to be making fun of the family watching, for not being offended.

The real joke is for the audience to discover if they examine why they may be offended by this very inappropriate display of breast feeding.

Every rational argument holds an equally irrational extreme.

You mention a studio audience, so I assuming this was a televison broadcast.

One comment: Don’t try exporting the program to America. (HBO excepted). Not a mere thirteen months after Janet Jackson flashed her bare brass pastie!

What a brilliant accolade for the show. You should mail Matt Lucas and tell him.
