I went to 3 different stores before I found a bottle of grapefruit juice...frozen grapefruit juice doesn't exist. I also bought a bottle of pepper sauce to flavor greens with. Its hard to find, too.
So I got curious about the people who like bitter tasting foods.
My father, for example, ate onions like they were apples, drank pepper liquor as if it was sweet tea, and consumed bales of bitter tasting veggies. My tastes are somewhere in the middle tho I'm kinda-sorta sensitive to the chemicals that cause bitterness.
It turns out eaters fall into 2 basic groups: Tasters and non tasters. Non-tasters cant taste bitterness (or less of the flavor), to them hot spicy food tastes good NOT hot. Tasters shit fire and generally dislike foods with fiber. Bitter foods are high in fiber. Tasters are meat and potato eaters. Non tasters are beer drinkers. There's a gene for it,but the expression of the gene isn't Mendelian.
