Bitmap images

Is there any way I can convert a bitmap image to jpg or gif?

I have some new AV material...but the majority of them are bitmap.

Anyone know what can be done?

If you have no other image manipulator (and Windows) and you do not wish to add any image handling software, you can always load the image as a BMP into the MS Paint, then Save as, altering the File Name and changing the File Type to a JPEG.

I have some new AV material...but the majority of them are bitmap.

On theother hand, if you're using Windows and willing to add a program to your system, IrfanView has a batch conversion mode that can convert all BMPs in a folder to JPGs or GIFs all at once.

Irfanview is also very good at sizing the images to fit avatar limits -- and tht too can be done in batch-mode to convert and resize all of those BMP images into JPeg or GIF format avatars in one operation.
