"Hey Bitch, Yeah I'm talking to you. Get your ass in here and help me take a piss."

That was what I heard as I walked down the hallway in work today.

At first I stopped and looked around to see who the guy was talking to. I was the only one around. "Bitch?"

I glanced around and saw one open door. The room was dark, he had the lights off and the blinds drawn.

Okay a patient needed some help, so shrugging my shoulders I slipped through the door and into the room.

He told me what help he needed. He needed help to stand and he needed someone to hand him his urinal. No problem. I pulled his butt out of bed and helped him stand. I handed him his urinal and steadied him as he used it. When he was done I placed the urinal on the table and helped him to sit on his bed in preperation of getting back into bed. His next comment got me though.

He demanded that I wash his dick, clean him up and do a good job of it. He even told me that if I did a good enough job, was gentle and caring, there would be a couple of bucks in it for me.

I didn't say a word, I went into the bathroom without turning on the light. I emptied the Urinal and wet a washcloth with nice warm water. I stepped back into the darkened room and handed him the washcloth as I turned on the room lights.

He protested about the lights until he saw me. He got that deer in the headlights look while he lay there with a hardon in anticipation. Now he could see me clearly, not just my ponytail.

He went absolutely nuts. He complained to his M.D. when she came by. He threatened to sue the hospital for not giving him the care he needed. He screamed and he ranted. He wanted me fired or at least banned from the unit because I was a misrepresentation.

The Patient Advocate and the Nursing Supervisor were called in. He was quite vocal about his complaints. They boiled down to two facts. A) I was male, and B) A female hadn't given him the sexual gratification he thought was his right.

Oops.

I'm sure I'll hear about this on Monday.

A) So....what have the female nurses been doing for him?
B) You didn't want a couple of dollars?

I work in a hospital environment. You get all sorts of people from all walks of life. You have those lovely appreciative patients who send you roses, and then you have the ones who throw their feces at you.

I'm sorry you had a sucky day.

Should have turned on the light and then asked if he wanted a spit shine.

Might have swallowed his teeth over that.

The world is full of assholes.

Sounds like he is having an unhappy time. At least complaining about you has given him some distraction from this.

Oh damn, I'm sorry that happened to you.

I have an unhealthy dislike for customer service work and this is the kind of scenario that always plays in my head.

*cringes* Not only over him calling the staff bitches but also over the thought of how assine some people can be. Cat you are a saint!

Will they actually try and discipline you in any way over this then Cat? Seems a bit skew-wiff, to put it lightly.

Couldn't this be considered solicitation for prostitution?

I would (if I was guy like you) said in my most femine voice:

"Oh, but baby, I thought you wanted a man."

Or I would have threatened to sue him for discrimination... and when he aksed WHAT discrimination I would have whispered "gay rights" or something.. really freak him out.

Or, being a chick I would have thumped him in the balls if he asked me to wash him up.

Okay,

Today I showed up for work and was informed by the Charge Nurse that the patient had demended I not be one of his care givers. I shrugged my shoulders and informed her that this wouldn't be a problem in the least. I then explained to her what had happened yesterday. She looked at me with a stunned look on her face, then she slowly started to smile. She called over one of the other R.N.'s, an older woman who came up through the old style of Nursing. She explained the situation and all three of us started laughing. (This Nurse is nicknamed Nurse Cratchet by the rest of the staff because of her no nonsense manner.)

She walked into his dark room and asked him if there was anything he needed. He replied in his usual diplomatic way. When she came out of the bathroom with what was needed to clean him up we all heard a blood curdling scream. (It seems the washcloth had been well coated with something that resembles Liquid Heat.) I gather that he had a hot time.

My supervisor was also informed about the situation. She approved his "Medical Treatment" (after the fact) and also completely cleared me.

Will there be a complaint lodged against the hospital? Most likely. Will the courts hear it? Most definately. (We have plenty of hungry lawyers down here.) Will this homeless Crack Addict win? The odds are 50-50, it depends on the judge. On the other hand I'm in the clear.
