Bit of vocal banter, anyone?

Hey, I'm Jane and I'm craving that phone-call-with-a-stranger thing currently. There's something so intriguing about getting to know someone over voice -- especially if that person's a bit playful and can handle some sarcasm.

I'd like to PM a bit here first to see we've got some conversational chemistry. Nerdy women especially are encouraged to message me, though any gender is welcome.

If you've no idea what to write, tell me your drink of choice or the last time you sang in public! Strange messages are preferred FAR above boring, tedious, or overtly sexual ones. Don't be creepy, just talk to me like I'm a person.

Disclaimer: This isn't an invitation for phone sex -- though the conversation may happen to get a bit daring. Also, please don't message if you're under 25. I'm in my late 20s and I'd just feel weird about it.

Hey, i can't add much to my post history but I'll leave you with a joke...actually i won't, I'm going to investigate loud music and screaming from a nearby apartment. Update to follow, hopefully.

Still in search of intriguing interlocuteurs! Extra points if there's some topic you find terribly interesting and exciting but rarely get to talk about -- anything from stunt geology to toothpaste efficacy to the right way to organise a séance. I love chatting with people about their passions and getting to ask questions of an eager explainer!

Send me a message and let's see if we click! Women are especially encouraged to message, but others are welcome too if you can speak to me like a person and not a sexbot.

What are your thoughts on whether robots will one day replace nurses?

Do robots dream of networked IVs?

I don't think robots could completely replace nurses -- or if they did it'd be a very sad world indeed!

Total dystopia: robots replace nurses entirely; healthcare for all but the megarich becomes even more factory-like, unhelpful, and dehumanizing than it is currently, but is marginally more efficient IF you don't have a rare or hard-to-diagnose illness

Positive path: robots take over only specific tedious nursing duties, adding machine precision to a nurse's toolkit and leaving nurses to spend more time making human connections & taking a holistic approach to medicine -- improving patient outcomes

Near-future realism: robots take over a lot of the duties of nurses; nurses become robot-tenders, are required to obey robots, and occasionally have to trick the robots in order to do their jobs properly -- pretty much the same path robots are taking in most industries.

I must confess to being terribly predictable and admit my favourite dress is black!

Why can’t robots be doctors as well as nurses? Is there a limit set in place by Isaac Asimov that they can only rise to nurse practitioners and that’s it. Down with robot shaming! If you dent them do they not spill oil and hydrolic fluids...

If robots ran the healthcare industry we are in for a rude awakening. Robots will never have that “human touch” and I can’t imagine going to “the robot” instead of “the doctor.” You’re right about them being more efficient but I do not see them taking over any time soon. I also agree with the positive path in using robots for specific tasks. I do believe this is already taking place in the form of robotic arms and hands if I’m not mistaken. A major downside to using robots entirely is that they function with a power source and mostly will be linked through some kind of wireless network. Two points here, once that power source is depleted then what? In a trauma situation every millisecond counts. The other point is what happens if/ when that network connection crashes/ is broken? I can see all of these robots going hay-wire making an already stressful situation even worse. Another point would be what if a cyber attack were to happen in this network?

I have too have to admit I’m usually right and the color of your dress at the present time has no effect on me. Rather it is the color you have on underneath the dress that waters my appetite ; )

Or

Will robots be drones allowing nurses to work remotely. Further they might autonomously perform wrote tasks allowing nurses to be multiple places at once. With built in sensors they can check vitals compare to patient history and bring exceptions on screen for the nurse.

It's been awhile...

I'm once again craving a chance to get to know someone new with just our words and voices to speak for us! Anyone planning to be awake for a bit also interested in the possibility of an interesting chance for some banter with a silly stranger?

As my name suggests, I'm likely to be put off if you immediately start in with sexual talk. I like to get to know a person. And I'm not offering phone sex.

Just hoping someone who is perhaps a bit bored or lonely today might like some agreeable company.
