Hey all lit fans,

my 21st is coming up next month, I was just wanted to know what you all thought should be done to make it memorable. Or, tell me about how your 21 was memorable to you

Thanks

My parents thru a huge bash for my step brother and I. We partied all weekend long...cept my birthday didn't come for two more weeks and we partied all over again.

Unfortunately I'll have to party with my parents on my birthday because of work. That don't mean that I can't find some other time to celebreat. I hope you had fun at yo ur birthday calypso

I thought the point of your 21st birthday was to not remember a damned thing you did?

I took a train to Chicago, then the Red Line "L" to Wrigleyville, paid outrageous prices for beer in the bars around Wrigley Field (highest was $4.50 for a 12 oz. can! WTF??), watched the Cubs lose 7-2 to the White Sox, and got Jon Lieber's autograph on my game program (which was later stolen).

But the best part was when I went to the Cubby Bear bar and met Carrie, who learned I turned 21 that day and adopted me for the rest of the night. Any man that approached her to dance soon learned that she was with me and it was my 21st; so in order to get on her good graces, they bought me a drink. Carrie is on the right in the attached picture, and by the way she looks you can tell I was being given drinks all night long. Too bad she had a boyfriend. :(

By the end of the night I had just enough money to buy a Polaroid picture of us for SEVEN FUCKING DOLLARS. I got ripped off, but I needed documentation of the night. The other problem was that Carrie's girlfriend, the other girl in the picture (whose name I can't remember. . . Anne maybe?) was dumped by her boyfriend. So instead of taking care of me for the night as they promised, they wound up ditching me at about 1 am — 20 minutes too late to get on the last train home for the night but seven hours before the first one left the next morning. So I wound up riding the L all night long trying desperately to sleep.

Oh, and one more thing . . . my birthday was on a Friday the 13th. ;)

Some notes about the picture: First off, I was really soused. Second, I'd only gotten about an hour's sleep over the previous two days. Third, I no longer have the beard.

Well Nora, i've been down that road before and didn't like it. I really do not want to wake up hugging the porcelain god again. I just want to get some ideas for a wild and crazy celebration.

thanks for sharing teddy. it sucks that they ditched you but atleast you got to dpend your night with two cute chicks.

Unfortunately? The only unfortunate thing about partying with my parents on that birthday was being force fed really good food; water fights like when you were kids; not sleeping for 72 hours (well if you count passing out once in the sun and once in the tub no water thankfully then I slept a bit); learning how to really smoke cheetos to get the best high from your stepmom no less; having a bbq again after midnite each nite; nonstop booze...and all the presents! It was horrible.

Because I started celebrating before my actual birthday and cause I turned 21 during the week...I wound up literally celebrating my 21st for a month. SO I say have fun and celebrate as long as you like, doing what you like!!

Yes, unfortunately. My parents took me to a friend of theirs birthday party last month, and although the Jagrmeister girls were there, and there was free food, it wasn't fun. I swear I've never seen that many mullets in one place at one time. I know my parents were hippies or pretty damn close to it when they married but now together they are pretty damn boring if you ask me. Who know's maybe i'll run into some old friends. oh well, I finally won't have to sneak alcohol from people.
