It is a far stretch, but ...

I was thinking about birth control and finding the right one for a person's body and all. Factual and why there are so many methods and hormone/non hormone, internal external...

But what about one for the type of sex/love lifestyle? It is well known that those in the bdsm lifestyle enjoy the extra bursts and floods of chemicals our bodies produce ... do any of the BC methods work better with this lifestyle? Or does one thing have nothing to do with the other?

My experience is the 2 are not connected. Get the wrong one and you go through hell, get the right one and it might just work for you, at least in the short term. I am happy I no longer need the bc ones, but I guess those other HRT ones are just around the corner. Think I will be pushing hard for natural ones as opposed to the chemical mixtures though.

I've gathered alot of info on different types of BC, alot of it going through and making The Blank Manual. Just wondered if one helped or hindered the other as far as BC and BDSM happenings went.
I've seen too many things go wrong when someone gets the wrong one. Its an double edge sword having so many types now.

Well, considering that my husband and I are Childfree, we are quite quite careful. Condoms, spermicide, and me on birth control pills. Nary an accident yet. :)

I just got a new job, so once my health insurance kicks in I'm going for the Essure permanent sterilization. :) I'm pretty excited about it. I figure once I'm fixed, I'm throwing a heck of a party.

essure? i'm super interested in permamant bc methods that don't involve surgery....does that even exist? i've been on the pill for about seven years now, and i know the health risks increase the longer you take it, so i'm seeking alternatives.

Essure looks very promising. They insert a thin spring like coil into the fallopian tubes via the cervix. Scar tissue grows around the spring/coil thing and the tubes get blocked. I believe you need to go back for a checkup at 3 months to make sure the tubes are fuly blocked and it's not considered fully effective until you've gotten the all clear at the followup visit. It may take 6 months for scar tissue to block the tubes- depends on your body/etc. (similar to a vasectomy in that regard)

I wish oh boy howdee do I wish my ex hadn't talked me out of a tubal. I understood his concerns and appreciated his getting hte vasectomy instead but damn I wish I'd gotten that tubal/Essure while I still had insurance. LOL

thanks cutie, i hadn't heard of that procedure before. i'll definitely look into it.
