Made an impassioned appeal to evangelicals, (women in particular), in a USA today article, calling for them to defy Trump and their evangelical leaders who have been complicit in Trump's UnChristian treatment of gods children.

I am personally not a religious person, but I do consider myself to be spiritually moralistic, and her words instilled hope in me that a significant number of evangelicals have seen the light and realize they have been deceived.

Her comments, coming on the heels of the Jerry Falwell Jr. news, could signal a decline in Evangelical support for "the false prophet" Trump.

Wonder if she's also dumped on Franklin Graham for pulling a cushy $622,000 annual salary, plus perks, out of his charity. Such a Christian.

Sure.
Vote for the guy who thinks murdering unborn babies is a 'woman's right to choose.'

Of course!

Some of her pictures remind me of Maria Shriver, while others resemble Courtney Cox.

Possibly the only positive thing to come out of the Trump administration is the fact that the Evangelical Right has been permanently exposed as a group of power-hungry white men using religion as a cover. They will never again be able to position themselves as moral scolds.

That seems to be the template for most cults in America.

Something that people who haven't lived around a lot of Christian conservatives might not appreciate is that in Red America, "evangelical Christian" is as much a cultural identity as a religious identity, maybe even more so. Especially in states like much of the Deep South where they've never really had two-party politics in the white community, it's a way of saying, "I'm part of the club." It doesn't necessarily mean you're devout.

One of the interesting things about the 2016 Republican primary is that Ted Cruz did best not so much in the states that had the most self-identified evangelicals, but in the states where the highest percentage of voters said they were regular churchgoers. Trump tends to do better with the people who think evangelical means you should tell Mexicans "God bless you" as you're putting their children in cages.

I don't understand why any true Christians ever supported him in the first place, especially when his actions directly contradicted everything Christ taught us to be.

There used to be a Christian troll on this forum, and when asked this very question, he would only resort to name calling and other non-sequitors.

Appointment of judges ruling in favor of tax protection of churches and against abortion.

Of course Joe Biden and his son Hoover represent rock solid Christian values for the evangelicals to turn to.
Hoover's slide into cocaine abuse and fucking strippers (and fathering a child with one of them) may seem to contradict the Christian message, but in fact it proves that the Bidens always strive to improve. It also says something about sinking way low, because how low would you have to go to be a sitting vice president's son and still get the boot out of the Navy?
Hoover didn't test positive, he was probably shitting kilos of the stuff.
So here they are seemingly supporting all sorts of depravity, plus sloth (hey, they're Democrats!) and greed (see "hey, they're Democrats!).
Finally, you've got Old Joe, a man who would have been a regular in any HR office before getting fired for feeling up and sniffing down every woman if he ever had a real job. And that's why he never had a real job, and a misdemeanor record. The guy would be destined for the 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. shift at the 7-11.

And yet, Biden in contrast to Trump looks like St. Francis of Assisi.

Ain't it cool how relativity works?

With the real headscratcher being why Trumpette dummies like OJ can fantasize that people don't know they are just being assholes to pretend the comparison isn't so glaring.

I read that as well and felt the same way.

Living just north of the US border it pains me to see the USA self destruct before our very eyes.

Already two threads using the exception as the rule...

You need to change up tactics occasionally; keep it fresh.

Just sit back and laugh at their destruction. They brought it on themselves, they deserve everything happening

Um......no....the communist puppet looks nothing like a saint to those of us who paid attention to how government controlled economies have worked out over the last 150ish years.

Do you know what happens when the politics (D)'s promote and you support are implemented??

Your politics are the ONLY politics that are more murderous than that of fascist.

Nobody on #TEAMMAO gets to claim sainthood.....you're horrible people with truly evil political ideals.

Republicans only care about the rich and they will admit it. They use division to suck in the workers.
