I love the character because she is extremely proud but utterly devoted to John Carter and fiercely loyal. She will do what she can to fight but isn't a fool about it. She keeps getting kidnapped by hostile forces but never doubts that her man will rescue her. She is all woman, totally feminine, and unashamed of it. She is very idealized, especially for the time when the books were written. It's been a long while since I read the books, but she isn't a badass or a fighter really. She is John's mate...and perfectly happy and proud to be that. I just liked that. I have the potential to be this, just haven't found the right person. Lol, I'm not as passive though.
