Well, the vet just called and the blood tests that come back today look like we are dealing with Feline Leukemia. I know that this is passed between cats, but can't figure out how he got it. I have one other cat.. we have had them both for 6 years.. they NEVER go outside because the people that had them before us had them declawed. I am at a loss here. Anyone have any ideas. Now I also have to worry about The White Piece of Fluff getting it.

i'm sorry to hear that...i was wondering about your kitty when i read your last thread. i lost one of my cats last year to cancer and it still hurts. she was a very good girl. i just hope you find the strength to make the big guy comfy and give him his time before.

Thanks glamorilla. The vet wanted me to bring him in to give him another shot, but the Big Guy does not like to ride. My husband has gone up to get the shot, and I will give it to him. He has been drinking a bit..and if I hold it for him he will eat his cat treats. I will not let him be in pain. The last tests results will be in tomorrow. I guess the only thing I can do is keep him comfy as possible 'till we are sure.

No ideas, sorry.
I'm sorry to read that though. :rose:xo

Actually, Feline Leukemia can be transmitted through you. ~winces~

I'm sorry to say it, but you can be the carrier for it if you were in contact with a cat that had it...and then pass it on to your pet. It's sort of like fleas, except we're just a carrier of this, not a host.

I wish you and your little one the best of luck.

I did not know that. I would hate to think I brought it home to him. Damn
