This thread is the result of some PM's between myself and another avid hunter and poster.

What are the big game selections in your state? Here we have;

White Tail Deer
Mule Deer
(and an interesting hybrid where their ranges overlap)
Black Bear
Mountain Lion
Elk
Desert Big Horn
Big Horn Sheep
Pronghorn Antelope
Barbary Sheep*
Ibex*
Oryx*
Wild Hog**

* These are introduced exotics but are free ranging breeding populations
** Wild hog is considered a pest. No license is required and in places the land owners will pay you a bounty to take them out.

Post your list.

Edited to add Big Horn Sheep and Pronghorn Antelope

The homeless, but not that challenging a kill.

Big game hunters.

We take away their high powered weaponry and gear, cut them so they bleed, then stick them in the woods populated with wolves.

We do give them a chance however, we give them a couple of hunting knives. After all if they are such skilled hunters why would they need guns or bows, surely they can fight hand to hand being as bad ass as they are.

Anyone who brags about shooting an animal through a scope with a rifle is a loser.

Exactly.

Unless it's clean a kill from over 500 yards.

Sounds like a fucked up attitude to me. What's wrong with hunting that gets your knickers in such a twist? Most anyone I have ever known who hunts doesn't consider themselves a badass because they hunt. You should try it. Some time out in the great outdoors. Harvesting meat for your own consumption that is a far great deal more humane way than the way commercial food is processed. Don't believe in firearms? Use a bow the way humanity did for tens of thousands of years.

I'll bite!

My first was a head shot, DRT, bitching sow at deer corn feeder.
With a .270 ruger bolt action, 9xsomething. Wasn't my rifle.

The second hog was on the move with a pack. I'm pretty sure I landed a gut shot but it retreated in the woods, we didn't trail it.
The firearm was built by one of the guys I was with, 6.8 spc, holographic sight (whatever you call those things).

Both shots were taken from around ~150-200 yards.

I love to hear the sissy-boys pontificate their holier than though, and essentially ignorant, bull shit. I certainly hope that they're Vegan, because if they use any vestige of animal derive material for any purpose whatsoever they hypocrites to the core. And it's obvious that they've never visited a slaughter house.

On a serious note I do hope anyone who hunts eats what they kill. If you aren't planning to eat it, it's just murder. MURDER.

And if we give the meat to shelters, do we get sainthood?

If it is consumable meat this is also acceptable. But if you, for instance, just go out and kill a deer and dump the body at a shelter it might be some form of psychosis.
