gross i hate them lisa wont try it either :) ... do you guys like the big english breakfast (do you know what black pudding is)

We had breakfast two hours ago...

You English sleep in awfully late!

Fried eggs? nah

Scrambled all the way... and add some tomato halves into the pan when you fry that bread.... :D

Top off with some orange juice and plain toast with lashings of butter.

You got it pretty much correct ;)

My mum never made any black pudding, so i've never had any (and no, i haven't a clue whats in it)

Thats yummy cant go far wrong with sausages, bacon, beans, fried eggs, mushrooms, fried bread and black pudding .But remember a moment on the lips a lifetime on the hips ..lol
for afters i whould want to snack on some early morning pussy to :p :p

Awww darn!

I thought this was going to be the sequel to the "other " breakfast thread you ran some months ago....

The pictoral account! ;)

i guess the idea is because they are eating so much it is lunch too ... i was up early today :( 830 early for sunday

starblayde black pudding is made from wheat and pigs blood its mostly pigs blood ... and yes i have tried it once :)

lol sorry misstaken

I hate English breakfasts. I had "free" breakfast buffet at our London hotel and I rarely took more than a few glasses of juice and some toast. The vest of it was vulgar looking. The eggs were kind of deep fried in vats of oil (ick) and the rest looked just as nasty.

AAahhh... thought there was blood in there somewhere :D

Gonna have to try that sometime

CHIPS?!?!?!

Blasphemy! Infidels!

Looks nice apart from the sausages are overdone, the bacon is underdone, the eggs are fired, and I don't like beans :D

That's not breakfast. That's gluttony...

Anything more than eggs, bacon, and toast is pretentious!

I like the full English breakfast, though I'd substitute a nice bowl of oatmeal/porridge for the black pudding.

just thought i'd add my mother is a better cook then that although i dont like what she cooked it didn't look as bad as the photo i used :) ... they didn't have chips for one thing

by way i had muesli for breakfast much nicer and healthier ... lisa is still not well today so who knows maybe she would of tried the gross out breakfast if she wasn't sick :)

That's what we built our Empire on - proper grub. None of this mamby pamby criossants and jam, or donuts and coffee...

No wonder the empire is a shadow of what it once was.

And yes, there probably ARE grubs on that plate. I'll bet they are buried under the beans! :p

It was built on breakfasts like that... and tea of course....

but once we'd conquered everybody we were opened up to namby-pamby foods which have lessened our nation somewhat... so thats why we lost the Empire... :D

at least thats my excuse....

I agree with you. You can't go out and butcher a thousand fuzzy wuzzies on just a bowl of cornflakes and a glass of orange juice.

Exactly.

Once your butler has dressed you (of course no gentleman dresses himself) you sit down to your full english breakfast, then go off and pour volley fire into the non-white foriegners armed only with kumquats....

and who probably only had soya beans for breakfast...

They stood no chance really.

:D

I don't do beans

for breakfast, and would substitute some good scottish oatmeal in their place. Black pudding is good on occasion served with copious amounts of tea. I'd give my chips to the kids and I have to have my eggs scrambled. (I don't do runny eggs either) But the bacon is glorious. Ya'll MUST try British Bacon if you haven't but do not overcook it!

[insert factoid for Americans: You can't buy British bacon in the US but you CAN buy Irish bacon here which is practically the same. This has nothing to do with diseases but with long-standing trade agreements and the fact that 1/2 of Capitol Hill claims Irish ancestry]

All in all though, as a Sunday brunch, you wouldn't need to eat much for the rest of the day after a meal like that.
