I tried to figure out what he was talking about. Apparently he is referring to Lewis Latimer, who was part of Edison's team.

There is no evidence to support the claim that Latimer single handedly invented light bulbs or made the largest contribution. He did make some significant contributions. The is also no apparent effort to "erase" his contribution, as there are historical sites in New York and elsewhere dedicated to him.

There is debate as to whether a white English man, Swan, was the rightful inventor.

The claim is rated mostly false to just strange.

Swan invented the light bulb. He even won a court case against Edison in the US and ended up owning half of Edison's company.

Tought this was common knowledge?

Almost all great works of engineering innovstion are more or less iterative.

No he didn't he invented a prototype that was impractical in use. Edison came up with the most efficient filament design which Swan incorporated into his own design. Edison sued for patent infringement and lost.

Leave it to TIMMY to fuck up even well known history.

That's exactly the opposite of what happened. Swan's filament was still in use well into the 20th century, no-one was using Edison's bamboo filament after Swan's became widely available.

This shit is all common knowledge.

Who put the ram in the ram a lama ding dong?

Great, now you're going to te me that Cap'n Crunch wasn't made by a Cap'n!?

Bump to counter the ridiculous ""tricky" "Trumpy"" bullshit here.

BTW, I hope Trump does have "tricks" up his sleeves and I hope there is "right wing violence" when the establishment steals the election. Unfortunately I'm still in touch with planet Earth and sadly I know that there is hardly a "right wing" at all and President Trump is far too nice a man to do anything even remotely as unfair or diabolical as the establishment that is trying to destroy him and what's left of the country. :(

As a side note, I watched the Kyle Rittenhouse video yesterday for the first time.

As hateful and horrific as liberals are today, it shocks me that they are not at least agreeing this kid did everything right and should be freed. I went onto the video with an open mind, even leaning against the kid based on what I heard in the MSM. Believe it or not Rory, I am open minded and try to be fair and ethical though I understand you will never believe that.

I watched this incident from as much of a "left wing" perspective as I could muster, and I was still shocked that anyone could think that amazing, mature, young man did a damn thing wrong. We need thousands of more "Kyles" today if we hope to have any future that's worth anything. Wow.

Please watch the video if you haven't, this young man deserves a medal not a prosecution.

Have you tried to buy a frigging litebulb lately. You need an EE degree. :)

Historians Robert Friedel and Paul Israel list 22 inventors of incandescent lamps prior to Joseph Swan and Thomas Edison. They conclude that Edison's version was able to outstrip the others because of a combination of three factors: an effective incandescent material, a higher vacuum than others were able to achieve (by use of the Sprengel pump) and a high resistance that made power distribution from a centralized source economically viable.

So Biden was right.

Edison DIDN'T invent the lightbulb.

He improved upon an existing idea by "borrowing" intellectual property and employing a team of engineers to do the heavy lifting.

Apology accepted on Joe Biden's behalf.

Since Edison frequently stole from other inventors, his invention of anything can be doubted.

And then, there is this which is way funnier

I agree

He is too nice and tame to fight the evil DUMZ

Joseph Swan
Physicist
Sir Joseph Wilson Swan FRS was an English physicist, chemist, and inventor. He is known as an independent early developer of a successful incandescent light bulb, and is the person responsible for developing and supplying the first incandescent lights used to illuminate homes and public buildings, including the Savoy Theatre, London, in 1881.

Biden was right.
