Biden Snubs Pelosi as She Begs Him for an Extension of the Eviction Moratorium

Property owners have financial obligations and economic needs themselves. Their rights are no less important than those of any tenant.

Yes they are less important than those of the tenants in this particular environment. Now the reality is we should pour money into this for as long as it takes.

Biden's hands were tied on this one. It's clear SCOTUS would not have allowed another extension without legislation accompanying it.

Finger pointing is irrelevant and more of a posturing move by the politicians. They know they needed to put up or shut up.

Their rights are less important because they are not threatened with homelessness.

maybe just maybe they will

No they aren't that's bullshit. The CDC, or the states, have no lawful authority to impose these moratoriums in the first place, none. Lawsuits by the tens of thousands are coming and the government will be forced to compensate these landlords in the end. Totally unconstitutional seizure of property without compensation.

I saw a stat this morning that there are something like 9.2 mil. joba available and waiting to be filled today.

Get off your lazy fat ass, get a job and pay the fucking rent!!

I am not sure I agree or disagree with this legislation.

We should also note it is as grossly miss-reported as mask, vaccine and sick rate data.

The "rent" is rent the landlord did not collect. The landlord must prove loss to collect payment. It is no way is for the renter or leasee to get his her rent paid. It prevents eviction and allows payment to the landlord by the government.

Thus the money is a side slide into the banks to keep owners mortgages paid.

If it was actually for the renters it would be doled out a bit more like unemployment payments where actual hardship must be evidenced.

What needs to be discussed is when eviction is an option. As is the legislation negates the legal agreement, lease and possibly the note the mortgage was funded on.

Either way the payments or legal defense that will come from the do it or don't choice they are pressing for is going to cost even more of our tax dollars.
