President Joe Biden’s administration announced their plans to create ways for Americans to report radicalized friends and family to the government, in an effort to fight domestic terrorism.

In a conversation with reporters, one senior administration official explained the importance of stopping politically fueled violence before it started.

The official cited the Department of Homeland Security’s “If you see something say something” campaign to help stop radical Islamic terror as a domestic possibility.

“This involves creating contexts in which those who are family members or friends or co-workers know that there are pathways and avenues to raise concerns and seek help for those who they have perceived to be radicalizing and potentially radicalizing towards violence,” the official said.

Sounds like a good idea. Something like that in place might have stopped Tim McVeigh or Ammon Bundy before they started.

yet EVERYONE reported the 9/11 guys

major nidal

and NOTHING was done just cause they were muslim

Domestic terrorism from the right is a real problem. I'm glad to hear it's being treated as such.

Democrats love the Communist idea of people informing on their neighbors, parents, and friends when they express the wrong thoughts.

This discussion board is a gold mine for reporting domestic terrorists and right-wing crazies.

We've been living with this "see something, say something" rule since 9/11. It's nothing new. There was a time, not out of mind, when loyal Americans were expected to report any suspicion someone they knew was a comsymp. It's no different.

Thanks to the Republicans, the threat to the country no longer comes primarily from the outside. It comes from those connected with and motivating the Republican Party.

This operates on the beyond arrogant and smug assumption that the country is whatever (D)'s say it is.....not the states or their union under the Constitution.

They want you to turn in your friends and family for wrong think.

Tells you about as much as you need to know about the left.:D

We will work to improve public awareness of federal resources to address concerning or threatening behavior before violence occurs. And on that, I would just note that one of the things we’re talking about is the need to do something in this space, like the “See something” — “If you see something, say something” concept that has been promulgated previously by DHS. This involves creating contexts in which those who are family members or friends or co-workers know that there are pathways and avenues to raise concerns and seek help for those who they have perceived to be radicalizing and potentially radicalizing towards violence.
