Bibliophile's definition of Sadism

Using said book on the backside of said masochist.

Nothing like a twofer.

Damnit now you have me thinking very un-librarian-like thoughts about incunables. Not fair. *wags her finger at AA*

Life's not fair, and you'll certainly never pick up another "dry and dusty" book again, will you. ;)

Big bucks

I remember seeing a Gutenberg bible at Harvard many years ago. My initial thought was to wonder how much I could get for it if I was able to abscond with it.

I adore antique books! I was totally fascinated with the National Geographic story on the Gospel of Judas.

Assuming one was brilliant enough to figure out *how* to steal a book of that fame, and foolish enough to attempt it, it would be impossible to sell- every single dealer on the planet would know it was a stolen book. (There is a special room in Hell for book thiefs.)

As for worth? Lets just say single leaves (pages) have been known to go for thousands of dollars (and up). ;)

Well there goes another fantasy shot to hell. Thanks
