Republican Senator Worried About Atheist Teachers Reading Bible to Students, Wants to Replace Them with Religious Scholars
Now I have no actual issue with a subject matter being taught by those who are educated in it... it's preferred; having said that, it's obvious this will open the doors to rabid bible-thumping zealots who'll demand students see the bible as the ACTUAL WORD OF GOD instead of its true history and timeline. In other words, indoctrination.
I also believe that if there're to be lessons on the bible, then there has to be lessons on the other major religions in the world and present in the USA... many of them far older than 'christianity'.
