Relative newbie so apologies for the stupid question

I’ve just spotted a typo... or rather the omission of a single little ‘a’ in the sub heading of a tale to I’ve had published today

My inner pedant is triggering like ****ing crazy over it (where as most people will just pass it by)

What’s the best way to amend/edit is it to follow the process seen on these forums in respect to editing updating story content?

Thanks in advance

The only way to make the change is to submit an edit, and it sounds like you already know how to do that.

If that is a stand-alone story, then the bad news is that, by the time you can make the change, most of the people who will ever see it have already seen it. Maybe you need to make the change to satisfy your inner pedant. Otherwise, there isn't much reason to worry about it.

I have submitted a couple of edits but mostly don’t bother. The process discussed on this forum works quite well. The main one I did was when my Halloween 2019 story introduced a continuity error that affected other stories of mine and based on a few comments there is at least one reader, to whom I’m very grateful, who’s read multiple of my stories and has followed the wider plot).

But if you look at my Winter Holidays 2020 story you can find a quick view of one of my author’s note.

While I’m drafting I’ll use square brackets “[]” to enclose notes to myself. Allows me to do an easy search and find them and remove during final edits. Missed one in that story, what you’ll find is a list of characters on the Endymion (an interstellar craft). When I looked over the story after it had been posted I saw that my notes fell exactly across a Lit page break and aren’t that noticeable! I have meant to submit an edit but not gotten around to it and its scores have been decent.

And as NotWise says it likely has the majority of views it’s going to get. New ones trickle in but at this point I’m working on a sequel so my thought now is to submit the edit just prior to submitting that since the sequel might get a few folks to check it out.

I have a stand alone story that is part of my "Before they were stars" themed submissions that had a typo in the title which prevented it being listed as part of the rest.

Laurel correct it for me without me submitting an edit. It wouldn't hurt to shoot her a quick message to see if she will assist before going to the trouble of submitting an edit for title or description errors.
