I wouldn't call a battlefield death "the best way to die." The things that can happen to a human body on a battlefield is not pretty. One of the most honorable ways, perhaps. But not best. The best way to die is probably in your sleep, or being put to sleep, because nothing is felt. You just go to sleep and don't wake up. That's why a lot of states use injections for death row deaths. It's "humane."

That said, I would rather die while fighting to protect someone or some thing I care about then just go to sleep and die in the middle of a good dream. Or old age. Wouldn't be bad to live to 150. I might get to see world war four.

Totally depends on the drug, dude. I mean, if you kill your self on an acid trip, I'm pretty sure you'd feel the pain. Over dosing on amphetamines is painful. Accidentally picking one wrong mushroom when you find a nice patch of blue meanies. There are plenty of ways to make dying on drugs unpleasant.

It was his 80th birthday. After a great meal with his close friends, he was relaxing by his fireside with a good cognac and a Havana cigar.

He finished the cognac, put the cigar down carefully, and said "I think I'll go now.".

He did.

Choked to death. Thought I already posted this but whatev. I've been choked until I passed out and it was one of the best feelings ever. I'd imagine that being choked to death would be like that but you don't wake up. It's ridiculously difficult to kill someone like that, though.
