Sweat it not, rydia, it confuses everyone, except for those it frustrates.

The acceptance process can slow down a bit for non-entries during contests. The only "good" times I know of to submit is sometime other than during a contest. On the other hand, if your story is ready and you plan to NEVER, EVER, NOT IN THIS LIFETIME do any more tinkering or re-writing, why wait to submit?
