Jesse Chapman and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Bloom had grown up as neighbors and close friends, despite their 4 year age difference. Jesse had protected her from bullies and kept her sane when her mother ignored her. In return, Lizzie loved Jesse for who he was, regardless of his bad boy attitude and ways, never viewing him as less than a hero. Young Lizzie had been crushed when Jesse left her behind when he went to college, and has been harboring strong feelings for him since. Jesse hasnt returned to their home town, busy studying and eventually founding his own company, which flourished quickly. now, jesse finds himself home, somehow ending up living in Lizzie's guest house. Jesse has always loved Lizzie, seeing her as the embodiment of purity and innocence, and has always done his best to protect her. Now hes torn between his desire for her and his need to protect her from himself.

Elizabeth was sitting at the bar with her best friend chloe, both of them trying to relax after a long day of work. she ordered a sam adams, then leaned back in the comfotable bar stool, content to just talk with her best friend. their other friend, julia, was late, as usual, so the girls had decided to start without her. they had spent a good 15 minuites talking with they hear julia's voice behind them announcing "hello girls, look who i found back in town.."

facing the bar, elizabeth had to turn around to see them, but before she even turned in her seat, her breath catches as she hears a deep masculine voice say "hello lizzie". she knew she was in trouble before she even lifted her eyes to his, only one person in the world had ever called her lizzie...

finally returning to his home town after college deciding to start his own business in his home town Jesse runs into an old friend julia he let her talk him into joining her and a few friends for a drink jess walks into the club with julia and follows her to where her friends are seated at the bar and seeing his grown up next door neighbor who has her back to him he says "Hello Lizzie"

jesse steps up to the bar beside her as he lets his eyes roam over her figure and thinks to himself wow she sure has grown up 'how have you been? its been ages' he smiles at her seeing her slight blush

smiling up at jesse, lizzy slides off the stool to stand next to him. she goes up onto her toes to take him in her arms in a light hug, murmuring a small, "i know, ive missed you jesse" in his ear.

"oh, sorry" she replied, suddenly feeling very nervous around this man who she had known her whole life. he had changed so much from the 18 year old boy she once knew, but she could tell that he was still the same.

she nods at his offer to buy her a drink, and thanks him when it comes. sipping slowly, she tells him of her life for the past 10 years. shed graduated valedictorian, going on to georgetown, then returning home. she told him of how her mother had remarried twice, and left to live with her newest husband, leaving the house to her. she sees the concern in his eyes as she mentions her mother, as it had always been a sensitive issue. jesse had comforted her more times than she could count, always being there when her mother wasnt. for that, and so much else, she would always love him.

shrugging, lizzy tries to pass it off as if she doesnt care, though she knows jesse can tell how it still upsets her. seeing his doubtful look, she adds, "im fine, jesse, really"

lizzy nods in reply, telling him that a hotel will be fine. they get up, and lizzy says goodbye to her friends, before leaving with jesse. he leads her to his car, opening the door for her, then gets in himself and drives them both to his hotel.

pulling the car into the lot of the hotel and parking jesse turns and puts his hand under her chin and says talk to me remember who this is

Jesse smiles back and whispers ive missed you too Lizzie Lets go in and get more comfy in the room then we will talk he says as he gets out and opens her car door for her and offers her his hand

lizzy nods, and takes his hand when he offers it to her. they walk into the hotel and up to his room. he opens the door and ushers her in, and she takes a moment to look around, telling him how nice his room is

thank you he says as he offers her a seat and asks if she wants anything standing waiting for her to sit

lizzy sits and declines his offer, shifting as he sits next to her. they are sitting close on the couch, but not quite touching.
