Bernie Sanders, the most honorable opponent in decades?

As long as you're willing to accept the consequences of it that's fine. But yeah WWIII isn't gonna happen.

I figure Trump will act more presidential if he wins the GOP nomination, and a lot more presidential if he wins the presidency. My plans are to vote for Sanders in the primary, then vote for him in November if he makes it that far, by some miracle. If it comes down to Hillary vs. Trump, I will either stay home or vote for Trump, depending on how he acts between now and November.

Really? Did you not hear Trump tell the people of Kansas, "If I lose, I'm going to be so angry at you."

And then there's this- "What's happening is a movement, and I'm very honored to say that if I weren’t involved, it wouldn’t be happening. I'm kidding. Not really, but I'll say I'm kidding because I want them to say I'm a nice person." One could fill pages with his insanity. He's always been like this. It won't change.

Trump is bat-shit crazy. Add to that, he's a narcissist on a power trip. This was a trifle amusing to watch back when it started, but now, it's just plain terrifying.

There are no good politicians, therefore there are no good candidates. And some, like Hill-Bill, are less than the goo on the pond scum. Also terrifying.

It's one hot mess, for sure.

I think you, like a lot of people, don't know when Trump is kidding and when he's serious. I'll bet you're not very familiar with Rush Limbaugh's radio show. If you were, you'd get it. There are a lot of similarities between Trump's shtick and Limbaugh's. A lot. They play to their audience in ways that work for them. A lot of the time they're clearly just messing around, creating outrage among those who aren't in on the joke, and their audience loves it.

I don't think Trump is kidding about any of it. Or even truly capable of kidding. That being beside the point we'll see if it comes to that.

I must disagree (I'm sure you saw that coming). I feel sure that Trump wants everyone to believe he's sometimes kidding and "just messing around." I feel sure that when he walks off whatever stage he's been on, he says, "Can you believe they bought that shit??" Unfortunately, people are buying it all up.

Trump, like Limbaugh, works best within the ignorance he so appeals to. Lowest common denominator and all that. Again, like Limbaugh, Trump also appeals to the anger that ignorance breeds. Hate begets hate. Always has. Always will. That they use it to promote themselves is detestable. That Trump is using it to organize voters is the worst of history repeating itself.

I can't stand Hillary, but at worst, she's just a self-serving liar. At other worst, she's a power-hungry politician who wants to prove she's better than the person who deliberately chose to look everywhere else other than the place where her husband was fucking everything that moved. While she is a queen of self-preservation at the expense of others, she isn't insidious. Scheming, perhaps, but not cognizant enough for insidious.

It all comes together as this- we have no good option.

Yeah, as another poster mentioned, Jesse Ventura ain't lookin' so bad.

(Just messing around, in case clarification is necessary).

Makes no difference if he's kidding or not. People take it seriously and he's running for President. Time to man up and stop "kidding."

Maybe Trump believes nothing of what he says.

Ask yourself, "Do I feel lucky?"

Keep hoping.

Trump believes in Trump and nothing else. He has even said he doesn't think other people deserve his respect. You vote for someone who says that, you get exactly what you deserve.

I would be shocked if you were wrong about the part of your comment in bold. I think Trump has been saying that to himself and his close confidants for decades. In many situations, about a lot of things.

The political situation in this country is approaching critical mass.

I hope they are willing to own up to that when World War III starts on Trump's watch.

The people who hate us and can hurt us don't really care who is in the white house. Being able to beat them back with a big stick is going to be important. I don't see Bernie swinging a big stick. Hillary's head isn't in the game (see Benghazi). Trump has a sort of "Reaganesque who knows what the fuck he's capable of doing" quality about him. If The World doesn't like him, that's a plus. He won't be bowing to any third world dictators, that's for sure.

The people who hate us and can hurt us don't really exist. But if they did they would care who was in the White House.

Bernie's head is in a different game. Getting them to hate us less and want to hurt us less.

Hillary's head is completely in the game (see Osama Bin Ladin). Bengazi is such a minor thing that if your focus is there it's because you NEED a problem. Not that one actually exists.

The world not liking him is not a plus at all. Nobody bowed to third world dictators but as long as they show the proper respect who gives a shit? Oh wait only ignorant fucktards.

Trump, assuming he's true to his word is a dangerous person. But he's not capable of starting WWIII.

USA already has the world's biggest baddest sticks -- as in, USA spends more on military and security than the rest of the world combined -- and all the GOP candidates want to spend trillions more. Without raising taxes. Sure. Hey, I seem to recall W waving his big stick around. And that got us where? Failed wars, megadeaths, destabilized midEast, collapsed economy, imposition of surveillance state. Good idea, wot?

I'd only add that Trump has been saying it in all situations, about all things.

The political situation in this country is approaching critical mass.
Rapidly.

I don't think WW111 will start if Hillary wins, or even Donald, and I'm not moving to Canada, my concern is that none of these people has what it takes to be a good leader. At this point, I'm not even sure what that is...

WWIII in all likelihood will not happen in our life times. It's just highly improbable. Of the remaining Trump and MAYBE Cruz are the only two who aren't "leaders".

Thinking about tomorrow
Don't
Stop
It'll soon be here
With mushroom clouds or a ubiquitous virus
We are doomed
Send me all your money

North Korea could nuke the South or Japan or Hawai'i any day now. Are we ready? What would Bernie do?
