I'm sorry, gang, but this is a reasonable and appropriate question.
When working in embassies in the Middle East, I can't even begin to say how disgusted I got with Americans who went where they were warned not to go and then expected others to lay their lives on the line to rescue them. And they're still doing it. In Bergdahl's case, I've seen no evidence that he didn't defect and purposely put himself in the situation he was in, which is a far cry from being either a humanitarian worker or a reporter. We'll have to see what comes out in what's revealed from the investigation of that.
