Benevolent relationships

A hedonist, I am seeking way to identify stories that feature benevolent (as opposed to malevolent) relationships.

I realize that any writing course will tell you that a good story has to have conflict and tension in order to keep the reader's interest. While I concede that that MAY be true for literature in general, what I find distasteful about most of the literotica here is its negative content.

There is quite enough of this in real life. Why is it I seem to be the only one in search of conflict free escapism?

Hence, I am seeking advice in how to cull the inventory here and perhaps at other sites to identify stories of pure pleasure... no pain, no conflict, no tension.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Donna

Mine are mostly pretty romantic, light little bits of erotica...

but unfortunately, I don' t think there's any way to really "weed out" stories that are negative... except the old fashioned way... by reading! :)

Romance as a category will have most of them.

There needs to be some tension in any story, but not necessarily any malevolence. The tension may only be of the "Will (s)he turn up for our date?" "Will IT happen or won't it?" "Who is going to cum first?" type, but if it isn't there the story will be dull and uninteresting. Think of the sex scenes in Aldous Huxley's Brave New World where the process and the outcome is absolutely routine; nobody could possibly be excited by them.

ah, em, er.....

I understand your point - I think your best bet is to go for stories that advertise themselves as basically just fucking - no conflict then.

Personally, conflict adds to the stories most of the time, I think...but my "Please" and "More Please" stories are conflict free.

but "More Please, Sir" might involve a lil pain? ;)

donna, by no conflict, could you elaborate please on what you want to avoid in erotica? do you mean conflict or do you mean confrontation?

In order to write a story, as you have mentioned, you do have to have some conflict. Otherwise, it's really not much of a story. What I would suggest to you is to isolate the types of conflicts you *can* take versus the kinds you *cannot* take and perhaps then ask someone to write something like this for you.

Not to take anything away from the story tellers here because there are some wonderful story tellers here. I think that on occasion I'm one of them. But we can write stories completely without conflict, look at the majority of Incest and Celebrity stories. They are mostly just sex. High my name is, lets fuck.

but in incest, there is built in conflict with the taboos. to a lesser extent, the same applies to celebrities, especially where they are played "against type".
