Looks like some do, some don't. I'm thinking the ones with the string could double as a weapon if you needed one.
 
I have something similar, called Lelo balls. Mine are hollow, and have a free rolling, weighted ball bearing inside. So, when you move, the ball inside rolls, and you can feel it. It's not like it's going to make anyone climax, but it does keep things pleasantly moist and aroused. They are meant as a kegal exerciser.

Ben wa balls aint going to help that. And I hadnt looked at Phallix in a while, but it looks like some of the artistry had gone from their designs.

I read about sitting in a rocking chair with the ben wa balls. It sounds like the Lelo balls would be awesome for that.

I have a few sets, one was bought for me by my mother she had no idea what she was buying but it had an asian theme and at one time I had a lot of that decor in one of my spare bedrooms

They are rolled in the hand, it is used to keep the hands from atrophying because of arthritis. I don't think it wards off, or prevents, just keeps it from getting worse.
