Recently, a friend of mine (who I no longer see) introduced me to a device that fits inside your navel (presuming you are an innie) and is adjusted to expand to fit snugly in the hole so it does not move. It has a rubber ring or collar that presses evenly on all sides of the hole.

In the center of the device, there was a turn screw that sent a pin or shaft down into the navel. The business end of the shaft has a ball about the size of a pea or a bit smaller.

Are these home made or can they be purchased. If the latter, where?

Thanks, everybody.

Now this, i can willingly search for, under the guise of purely academic interest of course.

Back in a bit.

Please share any links you find. I have a thing about navel rings and I bet I'd have a lot of fun using one of these devices on some lucky (or unlucky) sub in the future. :-D

Any success yet?
Not yet. Blame the 300 web sites that put "navel torture" on their page for hit purposes by Google yet have nothing on the subject.

After thinking this one through, i've got a few ideas for construction. i'll let you know when i find enough pieces/parts.

A start

Begin with something resembling a snap ring. i've looked at a few and would need a few tests before deciding on the best approach, but these look like promising possibilities. Most of these come in multiple diameters ranging from 0.125” to 3.000”. The tension in the ring allows you to compress them (lessen the diameter) for insertion.

The second and third of the following allow for easy compression using a tool called (what else) an internal snap ring plier.

Or, if you wished, you could get one custom made (click me for a site that does exactly that) with vertical "thumb and forefinger" tabs to compress the ring.

To avoid irritation to sensitive skin, i'd suggest covering the snap ring with an O-ring (hush you perves) made of silicone. Simply slit the interior circumference of the O-ring all the way around the ring, cut out a small radian (wedge) to allow for compression, then sleeve the snap ring with the O-ring.

Now, you've got your retaining ring. Price, thus far, (including the pliers) totals less than $10.

Moving on to the screw driven ball, i'm thinking of a modified studless picture hanging screw. i'll get back to you after some thought.

Duh ...

A modified toggle bolt using the ball of your choice.

The wings fold in and add to the tension within the bellybutton when they unfold. The retaining ring (mentioned in the previous post) lays on top of the extended "wings" of the bolt while you crank the ball end deeper. As you drive the ball deeper, the retaining ring will force the wings open as well.

A cursory check shows bolts that come in sizes as small as 1/8" in diameter with a depth of 3/8".

This thread is making me all tingly

Theres nothing I like better than a man who can make stuff. Even if it's stuff that makes me go
