I am not a doctor. It's my opinion that for a heterosexual man, nude or not, to see a nude woman and have a sexual reaction is normal and to be expected. If it's true that some larger 'nudist community' feels that it is not normal and is not to be expected, then they view sexuality differently than I do.

I wonder if those folks' exposure to female nudity over years has desensitized them or if they have ethics and morals that create a firewall between sex life and all other life.

As a card carrying conventional naturist I can tell you that nudists are not blind to the sexual attraction presented by being among other nude people. We all have our "type" that we find sexually stimulating, it might be big boobs, a big cock, hairyness, slim females, long shapely legs, tight bums, big bums, plumper female, 6 pack abdomen, men with the athletic classic V shapes, or any combination, whatever, and when a nudist sees someone that they find sexually attractive they feel it just like anyone else does.
But... by agreeing to join the community you make a commitment, build a firewall if you like, between your sexual desires and other life. You hide the desire. If you're a normal, sane, mature, adult this is not hard to do.
On the other hand for some, like me, the thrill is being seen naked, I'm a realist, I know that very few, if any, of those who may look at me will see me as a sexual object but I don't care, they're looking at me naked and that's what is important to me.

I discovered that there were parts of my body which felt sensual from being exposed. I am fortunate in that I have some land so I can be without clothing pretty freely, but would never join a nudist community.
