Champaign is a city in Illinois; champaign is a flat plain. Champagne is a region in France; champagne is a bubbly wine beverage produced in Champagne. So we have many characters in these great strories drinking either a city in Illinois or a flat plain when they think they are drinking a bubbly beverage produced in the Champagne region of France.

Like I said, I am a nit-picker sometimes when it comes to words

You're not alone, but we're a minority.

Very small minority yeah CC....and that's why there are editors. :nana:

And a good thing that is. Otherwise, I might have to (argh!) get a job and do some (pardon the obscenity) work. :)

*shudders* ooohh I know what you mean
If editing didn't exist I'd have to get up in the morning, get dressed and go to work....imagine ugh

I'm an editor and still have to do that.

Talk about suckage.

Me too, but--at the risk of waxing Panglossian--at least we don't need to tote that barge and lift that bail.

Heck, I'm glad there's people here that know the difference. That's what makes you folks so valuable

Wait, I edited something for Zeb few days ago  Am I a member now? Is there a quota?

:D

Completely off-topic.. but as I was reading this just now...
This line threw me...

Is THERAPIST written anywhere in my sigline???

Because for some reason, instead of therapist, I read....

Is THE RAPIST written anywhere in my sigline???

My first thought: "NOW I know whay LadyCibelle says her sig line scared people."

I need an editor for my brain today.

Blue pencil? Where the heck did that Memo went? Aren't we all supposed to edit in Red by now?

Bwah! :D

Nah, you're fine. I've done stuff like that.

My roommate pronounces Socrates "So" - "crates". Two syllables.

Magic Decoder Thesaurus?!?!?! I need one of those. But I would prefer either a red or green pen ... I find it shows up better on the page.

Can I join the club too? My abilities have been trolled, I've been underapreciated and my spelling/grammar suggestions have been outright ignored at times ... does that qualify me as a volunteer editor? ;)

Maybe it's only blue on the outside but it writes in red?

So we can stay all secretive-like and don't have to out ourselves when we take out our pencil.

Uh, nevermind the idiocy.

All of that totally hasn't happened to me yet. Zeb said thank you very nicely. Now I feel like only a half editor. :(

Quick! Someone tell me I'm a sucky editor that deserves to be beaten!

You wouldn't know a homonym if it walked up and hit you on the knows.

Sweet? I was hoping for cynical and bitter ... but what the hell, I'll take sweet if I get into the club. ;)
