Hi, newbie here. Stumbled onto chyoo and thought, oooh fun. Anyway, I started writing a little story but it was denied. So I'm confused: do I continue with it or abandon it? I know it's a little sketchy at this point but I have plenty of ideas for it but don't want to waste time if there's something fundamental about it that means it'll never be approved.

It's here, assuming I can figure out how to post a link to it correctly: into the labyrinth

Thanks!

There should be reasons given as to why the story was denied.

My guess is that the story is just too sketchy - the longest thread is 5 or 6 lines long. To make matters worse the threads in the male path are completely identical to the threads in the female path - the only difference is when you choose whether you're male or female, nothing else.

Wow, that was fast! Thanks for the reply. As for the male/female being the same: I actually put the female threads in as placeholders, planning to change them later, thinking I didn't want to have an option right off the bat that went nowhere. But is it better to fully flesh out one path then go back to the other? As to the length of each thread, I was picturing this as a very interactive "adventure" and so wasn't planning to write big long pages. Is that not allowed?

Oh, another question while I have your ear: is there an easy way to move threads around or do I just have to cut and paste?

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure there's no way to move threads. Maybe in some future version of CHYOO...

Whether you flesh out one path and then start another, or develop several paths at once, is entirely up to you to decide. And having an option that goes no where should be fine - I've seen more than enough such cases.

The mod that denied the story should've left some note as to why he decided to do so. In any case you should try developing the story a bit more and then try resubmitting it.
