Was I the only one to get enraged at PC stupidity when a Junior School boy got sent for 45 days to correctional school for - wait for it - taking a picnic knife and fork to school in his lunch box? Dangerous weapons?

This is getting out of hand when government wants to micromanage my life. George Orwell -1984 anyone?

(Diva, I sneaked it in before the 'Newspeak' censorship laws crack down.:D)

That whole zero tolerance thing is truly getting out of hand up here as well. My son received a week suspension for, get this one, having a multi-tool flashlight with a knife blade no bigger than 1 1/2" in it. I screamed bloody blue murder at them and said they better come up with another way to write, because pens were more dangerous than what he had. I suggested they return to using crayons so the threat of some kid just hauling off and stabbing another was eliminated. My son was put on a watch list for young offenders, which took forever and some worthless counselling by a school psychiatrist, to get him off of. I remember my teachers having Swiss army knives strapped to their belts when I was in school. WTF is up with school admins these days?

Its the feminization of the world. A woman in control is a woman out of control.

I confess to making threads for the first time in a while. I believe I've officially gotten my dander up.

This is ridiculous. I hope some lawyer gets very rich defending this family.

You're so right Jimmy. Every single person, from his teacher to principal, to V. principal to the psychiatrist, not to mention his fucked up mother, were all women. They had the stupidest reasoning for doing it and it took The Child Advocacy Lawyers to get it straightened out. I'm not putting down women by this statement, but there needs to be a balance of male influence in there to keep the playing field even.

When I was at school in the 1950s on occasions I went to school in Scout uniform, if I was going to a Scout event directly from school.

Of course I would expect some adverse remarks from my fellow students but I was large enough and tolerant enough to ignore them. Part of my scout uniform was a large sheath knife. The presence of that knife never caused any problems because "Scouts were trusted". In my Scout troop and several others locally the wearing of a sheath knife meant that that particular Scout had passed a test on the use of such a knife. Scouts who had not yet passed the test wore a folding knife. Sea Scouts always used a folding knife with a marlin spike (as required for removing stones from horses' hooves or more practically for splicing wire rope).

Later I wore a 24inch machete instead of the sheath knife. I could and did travel on London's public transport wearing that sheathed machete. I even attended a couple of Buckingham Palace Garden Parties as a Scout car park attendant, wearing that machete.

A Scout couldn't do that now.

Your PC government indoctrination...schools...centers at work. The mantra is no longer teach, teach be the brightest that you can, it's stop, stop, just get your ass in line. All so they can grow up to be good little dependents of government, not the doctors, lawyers(yuk), computer scientists, or climatologists that will be needed in the future.

I threw the climatologist in there for you people who believe in the politco-religion of Manmade Global Warming / Climate Change.

EO, you seem to be personally enraged by all kinds of human stupidities. You love to throw around the names of STALIN, and ORWELL, and PALIN.

here's a site that will fill your enrage cup to the brim, and you can scream all you want; http://www.opposingviews.com/topics/society

and here are another 107,000,000,000 rich sources of rage for you as well.

So...

Are you planning to write any porn this week? :) Cause if you want to talk sex, I'd love to talk sex!

Sex? *Perk*

When I was maybe in fourth grade, I brought a shotgun to school. It was my father's, it was child's size, it was unloaded. People ooohed and aaahed over the authenticity of my costume.

I was Annie Oakley.

My daughter or son couldn't do that now.

Oh please, let's talk sex. I'm not even supposed to be on this website during school hours but I'm using my own laptop, not the schools. Let's talk about Steampunk Sex. Yeah!

BTW, OE, I am a male teacher and I have a multitool on my belt and a box knife in my pocket. Have had for 24 years and no one says 'boo'. Not that I let the kids flash one around . . .

When I was in the 7thgrade, I brought a 1870 Trapdoor Springfield 45-70 to school for Open House. They put it on display.

Wow. You're quite the misogynist, aren't you!

Make broad unfounded over-generalizations much?

my daughter wore her reenactment clothing to school, and brought a black powder rifle. That would have been about 98 or so, when all this hysteria was already going strong.

The school let her bring the gun to the show-and tell, and then we brought it home for her-- because it was valuable, more than dangerous.

She had marksmanship medals by 11 years old.

When I smack feminization I'm complaining about the lack of male-female influence on children. Things are skewed one way. Kids need the balance. And there is a balance.

Lets say the kid takes his scout knife to school and carves up his desk. The masculine solution is: GIMME THE KNIFE YOU LITTLE BASTARD! And you set his ass on fire.

The feminine solution is: GIMME THAT KNIFE. IF ANYONE ELSE HAS A KNIFE, BRING IT HERE NOW! GO SIT DOWN!

The girlz fuck everyone, and the guys fuck the miscreant.

Actually I'm not Suzy. The school system was more tolerant when we had an equal mix of male and female admins. Now the balance has swung to a more female dominated style of thinking and the case load for the lawyers I mentioned, has tripled as a result. That's what they stated to me and the board during our investigation. They aren't acting as teachers, they're acting like parents, who want a bunch of kids to be the way they want them to be. I'm the parent and I'll discipline my son accordingly to what he does. It's their job to teach and they should stick with what they're paid for. I might as well let them raise him and wait for him to finish school to see what kind of child I get. I am in no way being a misogynist because I think the women running things right now are being unfair in their practice. Last year, 18 boys were suspended and only two girls, and they were only suspended because the parents of the boy who was assaulted wanted all the perpetrators charged. the girls would have walked away scot-free if they didn't. Does that sound fair to you Suzy, if it was your child facing that?

Be a man Lance, refer the silly heifer to Florence King's articles about feminization.

OK, now here's a great AH example of what's going wrong on civility on the forum--since several have brought that up as the real answer to problems they see here. There were civil options to responding to Elfin's post. Discussing the substance of the issue she posted (which a few have done here), just letting the thread run on its own and either reading it for interest or not. (Don't know how many countless have done this, but this is the adult response to all threads on the forum for those who aren't interested in actually being in the discussion). The incivil response is to take after the one who posts with little or no hook to substance of the topic. We've had those posts here already too. Sort of interesting who has gone for incivility.

Maybe all we need to do on this forum is take a little more responsibility for what we post and not be incivil if we want to be claiming that civility means anything to us.

When I think of the things that happened in my schools, that were never decently addressed, that made me aware of the inertia of male laissez-faire-- it's not so surprising that the pendulum has swung the other way.

Perhaps someday we'll reach a better balance.

I would hope so but after 20+ years making myself a pain in the neck pounding on the system, I'm getting discouraged. Two more to go . . .

Yeah, I'd love to talk sex. if you'd just quit, as a non-writer here, trying to tell us what can and can't be posted to a sex site general forum.

The glorious anarchy of this place is one of the reasons we flock here like moths to the flame.

You seem to think, as a non-participant here, that you have some right to strut your stuff here as an author. You seem proud to proclaim you have downloaded all your writing so perhaps your participation in the AH is a tad arrogant. No offense intended.

For once I agree with SR. I was staying out of the conversation because I didn't feel I had anything of substance to offer, but was reading the replies with interest. But I couldn't let this pass without comment.

If you actually didn't intend offense, you wouldn't have written this post. At least be honest with your insults.

Dude, did you know that every single man that was anally raped in Alcatraz in 1948 was raped by another man! OMG, that must mean that ALL men are homosexual rapists!

That's pure bullshit, but it makes just as much sense as your reasoning!

I believe that there may be a bunch of asshats in your son's school. The point is that it isn't because they are women. They're just asshole.

BTW, I'd put the behavior and social coping skills of the children of most lesbian couples WAY above those of most of the other parents I've known.
