I think I am almost ready to perform open heart surgery, well almost not quite. But what do you think of some of the shows that they have on there. for example.

Body Canvas: This was all about tattos the historys, the people, the art, the imagery, the removal, the scars the sorrow.

It was quite an interesting show and gave me a look of new insight on why some people do it. What are your thoughts on it?

Body Piercing: This wasn't your run of the mill ear and nose and belly piercing. They had nipple, clit, penis, testical, eyebrows everything, the guy said that was teaching them if it protrudes peirce it. I was expecting a man in his 20 or so that how old he sounded as he narrated the show then half way through they showed him and he was a 50-60 year old man with numerous piercing. Now just to think of piercing I can't picture it without cringing. I know many men and women here have pericings, but is there something that you wont pierce or is it all fair game?

So what have you learned or have had blown you away from watching the Learning channel? I am off to watch Body modifications now.

I think the last several shows on The Learning Channel that I enjoyed the most were 'When Dogs Cry', a show on cats and their behaviour, and an episode on the history of the Masons.

I had never realized the history of the Masons and the level of corruption that existed within their orginization in the 19th century, or how far their membership reached into the political and business worlds during that century.

I love The Learning Channel, as well as The History Channel and the four Discovery channels that my cable provider recently added. Recent episodes on the Discovery channels have included space travel, paleontology, and the history of jet travel. Really to many to even name here.

Excellent topic bob.......now excuse me, I have to go learn how to build a warp drive on Discovery Science channel..

The one thing I learned was what NOT to do when laying a Linoleum Floor - TLC did this story I think it was on the Paramedics show... the title was:

The Dangers of Linoleum Floors

It seems that a woman from Maryland became stuck while trying to install a linoleum floor in her home. She lost her balance, and landed in the glue spread on the floor. She somehow managed to reach her phone and call 911, she then removed her clothing and freed herself from the floor only to become stuck to the couch when she sat down (they didn't exactly say how that happened since her clothes came off yet the glue was still there) anyway, She was stuck to the couch when the firefighters arrived wearing her bra and panties, her legs were glued crossed over each other and the cordless phone was attached to her hand. They scrubbed her with a solvent and the woman was finally free from the glue...

Although I have seen the shows where they perform open heart surgeries, breast reductions, breast implants, face lifts, etc. I don't think I have learned enough to say I am ready or any where near ready to perform them.

Some things you just DON'T wanna discover...

My husband and I watched a surgery being performed on the Discovery Channel for 10 whole minutes...twisting our heads and squinting at the screen trying to figure out what the heck they were operating on, before we realized that the procedure we were watching was a vasectomy.

And you thought cats get up and leave a room suddenly! LOL

You think the 19th Century is bad for them, thankfully for all the good PR to cover up the coruption and the web of their reach in this present century. But I won't go into that here. It's not the time or place.

Body Piercing...

I don't get it...I guess I am too chicken! I have one hole in each ear lobe and that is as wild as this chick gets! LOL!

I worry about the silly things like...I don't like my voice anyway so I am going to pierce my tongue so I sound worse. I can't stand listening to someone talk when they have a tongue pierce. But, I'll get over it. Then I think about infection wouldn't that make your breath smell? What if food lodges down there? I know you take it out and clean and all that stuff but, I would never get it back in without gagging my lunch up (hey lightbulb goes off) I think I have stumbled onto my new diet plan! LOL!

The nipple ring no couldn't do that one either my nipples get extremely sore and sensitive around my period. Couldn't handle it. Besides my hubby likes to pinch my nipples and he would forget I had them and he'd pinch and twist the ring in some way and instead of thrill it would be kill!

Then the navel ring I could see me forgetting I had one pull up my top ring gets snagged and I rip it out not to mention if it gets infected your vital organs are all right there close by.

Then you see those chains that run up through the nose down the throat and out the mouth! Gag reflex again! Diet plan step II! Not to mention cold weather and you have a runny nose and you run outside and it freezes....this sounds attractive...NOT:p

Then you see those guys that put those pointy metal thingys into their scalp....weather...it's freezing...if you think brain freeze hurts when you take in ice cream or slushie to fast hurts can you imagine cold metal directly on your scalp ...sounds like major headache to me.

Then the clit ring yep that one would be a definite no for me 'cause not only can I not get past the thought of the pain when they pierce that (makes me want to cross my legs) but, I would forget once again and I would rip it out with my fingernail! Yep, I can see the writing on the wall with that one.

So, am I tempted at all to do body piercing? I think my answer would be a tentative NO!
