Anyone else having a huge issue opening up threads and pages here? I can get to the board, but if I try to open up a thread sometimes, and always if I try to open up page2 or beyond, I get a server cannot be found.

<sighs>

Anyone have a clue what's wrong? This has been going on for awhile.

Sorry I cannot be of help. Lit is excruciatingly slow for me tonight.

grrrrrr

I have had similar problems in the past few weeks as well as emails about posts to threads and when the link opens, the post is not on the thread. Also had multiple emails about the same posts. Gremlins in the system obviously.

Well, so far so good today.

<crosses her fingers>

<hugs> I've missed you guys. Been frustrating as all get out.

With me my browser just hangs. It can take anywhere from 1 to almost 4 minutes to load a page or submit a reply. Very frustrating.

I am not certain if there is a problem with the server or what... but I could not post the other day at all.. I know the frustration...

I've had the hanging up before, but the page not found errors were what was driving me nuts. I'm hoping it was just my ISP doing whatever they do with DNS 'things'. (yes, I'm not a techie and don't even play one on TV) ;)

Thinking about it, it could have been caused by the fact I was told certain overwrites to DNS's that I had to have for a gaming website that I'm now writing for. Since it launched this week, I went in and deleted all those. But, those overwrites were only to be able to view the new website and not the one that had been up.

Odd, odd. <shrugs>

Sounds like a cookie thing to me. Maybe remove the Lit cookie and let it send you another? Just an option.

I've had the hang thing myself. I know it must be a Lit problem, because I don't have that problem on any other site, that I can think of.

If it hangs for very long, up to a minute or so, I'd just hit the stop button and try again. Sometimes at high volume times, your request can get lost in the mass of other requests and end up in la la land. And, this can also result in the page not found errors, too.

Just hit stop for the request you are loading, and then hit your link again. I bet you will find sometimes your wait is only because of high volume traffic and the Lit servers can't handle it.

And, if it doesn't always work, you might be better off to go do something else for a while, to relieve your frustration. I've got a fast connection, and there's nothing more frustrating than a web site that is sometimes counter productive to what you're spending money to fix.

Well, I deleted all my cookies, changed the DNS workaround since I didn't need it anymore for the other website, ran spysweeper again and found another ad thingie <grrrrr>, and now everything is working like it normally does.

<smiles> Thanks everyone for the help. :)
