Been Feeling Discouraged

I've been discouraged about my posted novel- I've recieved very little feedback and few votes. However, it finally dawned on me to look at my scores and stuff, and I was suprised to see that it's not being too badly recieved (by those few who are recieving it- lol)

The whole novel has a 4.88 (My highest score ever!) but only 8 votes- therefore, no H.

Broken down by chapter (I posted it that way in order to make it easier to read and hopefully attract more readers) I see more encouraging news. 4.64 (and an H) for chapter 1, 4.80 for chapter 2 (but only 5 votes)3.80 and 3.25 for the next 2 chapters, and 5.0 with only a few votes (4 and 2 respectively) for the final two that have been posted so far.

So, now I feel much better. Even so, it's odd. So little feedback. I suppose it's because I don't post under this name often. Do you find that when you post more, you get more feedback- even when you don't ask for it? Or is it maybe just because my ass pic attracts more readers to my other profile?

ps- while this post seems like a desperate plea for reads/votes/feedbacks, my main purpose was to see my new edited sigline, and then to tamper with it some more:)

The main thing I would note is that you aren't using your regular name. If you sdon't, only those who hang out on the Ah are likely to know it's your work, thus you loose out on the votes and reads from fans gathered to your other name.

I took the opposite approach on my novella, posting th whole thing in one shot. I've got good response to it. that may be because it's under my regular name, or perhaps because many Ah regulars "star" in it.

When you post a part one, you turn off a lot of readers. They don't ant to start somthing long and many have experienced the frustration of starting something only to have the Author quit or disappear.

Good Points, Colleen.

Actually, I posted the whole thing, but after a while I got frustrated by lack of feedback, so I thought more people might be interested if I broke it into chapters. (so it's there both ways).

I definatly think being well known and having a following is a big help. This has definatly taught me the importance of that.

I wish I had the excuse that my most recent is long .... but it's not, just weird.

See I love this old movie, "Roshomon," and I decided to do a porn version of it. Oh well, the story is pretty danged good, but it's in "Group" and we all know that people don't go to "Group" for parodies of old Japanese movies. No matter how good the writer thinks they are!

And I know the people who read my stuff are showing up .... the views are up there and doing fine, but it has a big 8 votes. The average is fine, but obviously it's a case of reader's voting with their cyber feet.

I sympathize .... I'd be really upset if it had taken all the work I think you probably put in on a longer work.

9.77 sec!!!

His body doesn't look like steroid-enhanced either!
