Bedridden...but far from helpless

EDIT: Went to the doctor, my lumps are non-malignant

So right now I've had several symptoms pop up which seem to suggest that quite possibly I have cancer. While I wait for someone far more skilled than I to see me and make a proper diagnosis, I decided to distract myself by thinking up a story idea.

I've said in the past that I'm not the hugest mind control fan and usually I need some kind of twist to it to make it appealing to me.

This idea doesn't have a twist but for some reason I do find it appealing at the moment.

Essentially, a woman has become bedridden with a serious condition. While she'll survive, there's no telling if she'll be able to fully regain her life afterwards, or even be able to live without assistance. The woman puts on a strong face in front of her friends and family but she starts to lose hope and spends as much time as she can sleeping or just zoning out and staring at the wallwhen she's alone. However, all of her sleeping and zoning out slowly awaken a sense of awareness in her that she's never felt. She gets the feeling that she can manipulate the world around her if she just focuses enough.

However, she just treats this feeling as a fun idea...until her new nurse (or live-in aide) arrives. The woman hasn't even be able to masturbate in weeks and the sight of her new attendant creates feelings of desire in her that she hasn't felt in even longer. Unable to resist, she tries out her power, convincing the nurse to give her a shower instead of a spongebath and even to caress and touch her. Slowly, she keeps influencing her aide until the two of them are having an active sex life.

Now that was the end of the idea and I had a couple variations: Either the woman's powers are real or the nurse is just very observant and plays along for awhile, though only goes all the way when her patient is honest with her.

However, the other idea I had was that the woman's powers aren't only real but are growing. Slowly, she starts influencing her neighbors so they not only have more active sex lives but also have their inhibitions dropped regarding exhibition, letting her have an unparalleled view of their escapades.

But of course, I posted here so I can see your all's twists on this concept. The only rule I'd like to be kept in mind is that the main character is physically weak, so while she/he might be in control, his/her partner is responsible for most of the action.

The first option sounds hot.

Maybe the character is the hospital because of an injury, and will soon make a full recover (less depressing that way).

She's a nerd with an active imagination. Through a series of coincidences, she thinks she has super powers, or something like that.

She's always been bi-curious. The nurse is pretty. They have a bath, which is slowly built up because the lead is nervous. The lead character takes small chances and asks the nurse to do more things during the bath. The nurse complies.

The lead character takes a chance and asks for sexual favors. Nurse complies.

That's the whole story.

Just a suggestion if anyone wants to use it.

And best of luck with your health situation Strangebuddy.

If you do not want mind control, you could change it to a much more real-life 'power'
Celebrity.

She's a famous person. She's been in an accident, and this has had a huge change on her life. Yes, she's still in the papers but about her recovery not her (music, fashion, modeling, etc.) Some fans have left her case she's imperfect or otherwise changed from the accident, others are getting creepy.

But, its her natural charisma and her celebrity that gives her influence over others.
The rest can stay generally the same as she learns to simply be (more?) manipulative.

HeyAll: Thanks for the well wishes. While the doctor ultimately gave me a "wait and see" instruction today, He also said I should be fine for now as long as as the lumps I found stay the same size they've been at and they don't seem to have grown any in the past few weeks. I also like your idea, bicurious nerd girls are a favorite of mine

MaesterAelix: I like that angle. That it's just her natural charisma that makes her able to still claim anyone she wants.

This thread title keeps reminding me of an old joke.

A doctor is examining an elderly woman patient in the hospital. He asks, "How long have you been bed-ridden?"

The old lady blushes and says, "Not since my husband died!"
