The girls probably all know the sensation of having their chins and cheeks rubbed raw by stubble, and the guys have probably been somewhat kiss deprived due to this effect.

Now, my new SO has been...let us say unlucky with my stubble. In your experience does your skin get less sensitive after a while? Doesn't get raw so quickly?

No, we don't get any less sensitive to it as time pasts.

So either let the hair grow a little till it gets past the stubbly stage or keep it clean shaven.

You sure you don't get any less sensitive?

Damn...the problem right now is that a few days ago I had that perfect sandpaper feel - you know, the wire-scraper style 2 millimeter stubble. And the last few days I've been rubbing her raw even completely clean shaven!

Maybe no liplocking marathons for a few days...sigh...

Yep, after all those make-out sessions, i'm still sensitive to stubble. The deal i've always made is, i promise to keep my legs clean shaven if you keep your face clean shaven ;)

Tell her to put a dab of vitamin E oil on it. That should make her "wounds" heal faster.

Btw, there is a recent thread detailing the merits of vitamin E.

have you tried using moisturizer or other products to soften your skin before shaving? i have to use these because my skin is so sensitive around my neck area, but they do make for a mega close shave, even getting a shaving brush to apply the foam can help too...

anyhow, maybe you know this already... have a good night

Sure - shaving is a ritual! And quite fun at that. First washing with cold water, then warm, then some massage with a wet sponge, then a lather brush, then shaving, then washing, then rubbing in some aftershave and moisturiser - I know the drill ;)

Of course the cold sore I got after last night's partying is a more pressing problem... :D

Life's a funny thing...

Can't win either way you go, huh? ;)

Every victory carries within it the seed of future defeat...

 ;)

...haha! Well, the sore is responding well, so it should be burning on its funeral pyre by next week.
