c'mon y'all, what are they this year?

spill - the possible, improbable, pies-in-the-sky and mere twinkles in yer eye; tell me

to get back to living a life, not working myself into an early grave and to lose 40lbs, I hold the 290lbs I've got really well, but 250lbs is a more comfortable size for me.

To spend less time making a living so that I can spend more time living...
To learn how to do more things with only my left hand since that's the way my son has been doing things for the past 6 and a half years...
To remember to tell all the people who matter in my life that I love them every time I speak with them... and
To speak with all the people who matter in my life more often.

To brag about my family more:

I have a son (prior marriage) who, as a career naval officer, realized his dream of commanding his own ship in early December.

I have a daughter who, as valedictorian of her high school class last June, earned a four year tuition free scholarship at our state university, just finished her first semester, and loves every minute of it.

I have a 59 year sister-in-law who has been brain-damaged since the age of three for whom my wife is legal guardian. She may be the most gentle soul I've ever met, and if you believe in a heaven, hell, and purgatory, Mary Kate's got a free pass upstairs, no questions asked.

Last but not least, I am married to the nicest, sexiest 58 year old woman in all of New England with whom I celebrated 20 years of marriage this last September.

There! I've done it. By my clock, it's 12:00 am Eastern Standard Time. Happy New Year!

HNY, Senna - what about your resolution?

some of mine are:

meet harry

get a passport

continue the steady, gradual weight loss

lay the stair carpet

make sure people understand my being kind doesn't translate as "i'm stupid, please take advantage!"

I'll drink (water) to that.

GM, your story is inspiring. You have much to be proud of in your family,

I want to meditate at least five days every week.

I want to support our beloved four shared children however I can.

I want to keep writing.

Maybe those are wishes instead of resolutions, but either way...

I hope you all meet your goals and get what you wish for and that 2014 is good to you.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL YOU LOVELY PEOPLE!

I always feel, stupidly probably, that to reveal my resolution is to doom it to failure so if and when I make them I write it in my journal. Last year it was to stay in touch with old friends and I did/have. I sympathize with and applaud all of the resolves in this thread and wish you all success.

I'll try to walk at least 5 days per week, for at least 40 minutes on each occasion. Happy New Year!
your heart and circulation in general will be happy

the past is a weight we're sometimes so used to carrying it feels a part of us - it can be scarily liberating to set it down. you can't change the past but you CAN stop the past from preventing your future happiness. set down the load and keep right on walking, annie.

as to the black dog, seek real help. it's out there - i recommend reading/listening to stephen fry's dissertations. and there's this: http://zenpencils.com/comic/89-stephen-fry-ultimate-self-help-book/

i wish you every success, annie. HNY :rose:

Happy New Year everyone!

I hardly ever make resolutions but this year I will use my digital Canon SLR a lot more then I have the last few years. Since my knee is healed, I will keep my gear in the truck and climb whenever the whim instead of watching or tending lines for someone else. Also, I really am going to plan vacation to get back to Japan by next year.

In the spring it will be ten years since EE met me at the Bangor, ME airport and we kissed for the first time. We've been together since that day and I can highly recommend living with another poet. :D

I hope you and Mr. H find the same joy and excitement in your journey. It's a beautiful gift to find someone here.
