You know, it has surprised the sh*t out of me-but, my goodness, so many people are just nice.
I never really considered myself a people person, never thought that the majority of people were actually worth knowing--but, I think I was wrong.
Over the last few months that I have been working in a doctor's office, (where a typical wait is at least an hour) it has astounded me how many people are pleasant and understanding. Furthermore, it is amazing to see patients that are rightfully pissed off, mellow when given a smile and explanation.
Now, these are mostly people that are ill!!!
Of course, then I go into the supermarket or a store with a sale going on...and my whole 'people really are nice' theory gets shot all to hell.
Anyway, my idealistic suggestion is to be nice! And, when someone does something nice--let them know you notice and appreciate it. It'll make you both feel good; honest!
