Guys (and I use this term in th non-gender specific sense),

As you may have heard me say before...I lack the courage to submit my stories.

OK, i know I am a complete freak - more erotic than sensual. I live in a world of ideas and relationships more than the overt physicality of sex. Because of this some people have guessed, incorrectly, that i am a woman. I am not - I am big hulking stud - and don't yous guys forget it.

Anyway, here's the thing. My stories will piss more people off than they will excite. BUT, if you feel you are the kind of person who is, like me, more erotic than sensual - I'd love to share my stories with you and get some honest feedback.

Note: I have tried this once before, and got a bite from Tolyk. I sent a story to him and...I guess...its not his thing.

Love to hear from you.

 SL61

ps I discovered the goofey icons. I am becoming more cyber by the day! Help me!

Don't be afraid to write what YOU want to write. Who cares if you piss people off? If you wanted to please someone, then I'm sure you would ask that specific person what kind of story they wanted, and then write that particular story for them. If you read my story, I'm sure you'll agree that not everyone is going to like it. I don't care. I love my story and I put a lot of hard work into it.

The physicality of sex in stories can become boring to me. They all seem to become the same after a certain point. I'm much more interested in A story. Meaning, something that is an actual story, that might just happen to involve sex.

That's my take on the matter. Be true to yourself, and everything else will work out fine.

Thanks Rikaaim - such unbounded optimism!

What kind of feedback are you looking for? I'm good at giving opinions. :)

Also want to second Rika- write for yourself. Enjoy it! Yes, it's nice if other people enjoy it too, but the most important thing is that you write what you want.

Curious - why do you care if you piss people off? Who are these people that would get pissed off? Anonymous internet porn readers?

All you can do is write what's swirling around in your imagination. It will find its audience, or its audience will find it.

I have an definite opinion about your avatar, sj, but I digress.

I second the opinions of sophia jane and rikaaim. No matter what you do here, you will piss somebody off. Usually they are gutless wonders who lack the courage to identify themselves even with a pseudonym. Ignore them, or laugh at them. They are not your audience. You write for yourself here, and chances are that there are a bunch of people who will love what you do.

When they let you know that you moved them, either emotionally or physically, it will be a feeling that's hard to describe, and is well worth the occasional crackpot.

Go for it, learn from your mistakes, and above all, HAVE FUN!!!

ps: and have some nanas for nourishment and inspiration :nana: :nana: :nana: :nana:

Exactly.

Write for you, and if no one else likes it, *shrug* who gives a shit?

How long are your stories? I might be willing to consider this...

Threadjack alert: what is your opinion of the av??

Okay back to the topic: readers are great when they encourage, but really write what you like. If it amuses you, or turns you on or whatever- then great!! There will be other people who like it, too. You might occasionally run into folks who hate you or think your stories are terrible, but that happens to most of us. And hey, at least they're reading your work, right??

Temp threadjack...

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... the av....

It got better, but maybe I was out in the sun too long today, because that is not possible. I will need to look into this later this evening, when the uninvited company leaves.

Oh yeah, as long as they read you, that's all that matters. I just got an anon e-mail that reamed me a new one for writing yet another in a long line of slut-f*ck Emily stories.

Since it was only the fourth story, and since there was no f-ing in it at all, and since it features a woman that only had been with two men in her first 45 years on earth, what am I supposed to take from that critique except f - you buddy. 550 happy readers can't be wrong.

Back to the av. :nana: :catroar: :p :nana: :catroar: :p :nana: :catroar:

Too true everyone...
but it still hurts, sometimes, getting a knock back.
Check their personal profile and you'll find they haven't dared to post anything for public consumption.
Write for yourself; someone, somewhere will enjoy it as much as, if not more than, you.

For whatever reason, if somebody puts some kind of name on the knock, for me at least it has some validity. The only real flamethrowers that have the guts to put a moniker on their madness are the Loving Wives regulars, and some of these guys are so entertaining they should be writing for real.

Now, back to sophia jane...

Feedback and Public Comments are dangerous weapons that can hurt new authors. If you have been here sometime you will have seen numerous threads about how sarcastic and wounding anonymous can be.

It is almost impossible to write any story that will please everyone. If you please yourself and a few others that is a major achievement. To be near the head of a Top List with a hundred or more votes is to achieve success in Lit terms.

Me - I aim to prop up the bottom of the pile with experimental stories that a few like and very few vote on. It's a hard task but someone has to cream off all the low votes to allow the rest of you to get shiny red Hs.

Thanks for your thoughts guys!

I will send a sample story to those that expressed interest.

Coming shortly! (But I don't know why that is important).

I think I would like to excite people with my stories. i don't want everybody to like them, but i hope I positively affect a least a few people. I don't think i would be so cut up if some individual dismissed my work - but everybody did, then i would be cut up.

To me, its a very intimate thing to reveal my erotic stories. Also, quite a few of them are actual occurrences...so, even more so.

Its just like with my rock singing. Initially i was too shy to jam with friends - but once i got going...well, playing stadiums was just a rush. But when critics panned our 3rd album i started getting nervous again, even if it went triple platinum...

I digress. i am a sensitive guy.
