OK OK where to begin...about 2 maybe 3 years ago when I had a few stories posted on Literotica I rec'd some fanmail... -big smile-

One was from this young gal in California. She said she was 19 or 20.. she loved my stories... yada yada.. so we began emailing a little.. Our ages came up and I asked her "HOW old are you reallY?"

Her age went from 20 to 18 to 16 over a week or two! I said you have to be 18 to be on here and we shouldn't be talking.

Then it turned to she was a little heavy, didn't have a BF and wanted to know more about sex.
One time she wanted me to visit her, go to a hotel and de-flower her.

I told her to seek advice from her parents! They were separated. Then I said go to your High School guidance counselore. I also copied from the "how to" series for her..

Meantime her age went to 15 !!!!!!!! I said to myself NO WAY. I tried to break away.

Then she told me that their were other guys .. older men..chatting with her. I said DO NOT TALK TO PEOPLE like that.

I said you have to get some help. For some who might say.. you should have done more...I discontinued that email address. I did not have her real name or address...

From time to time I've gone back to see if I could get into that email box but I can't.

I'm not confessing... Just saying we all have to be carefull .. That's all.

Back in the early days of the internet, a guy I knew got totally taken in by someone who said she was being held prisoner by her father and his friends. She told him tales of rape that just got worse and worse. He told me about her, and I recognised the horror stories-- they were scenes from DeSades' novel "Justine."

I told him that if he could not help her, as she kept telling him-- and if it was making him ill to hear stuff that he couldn't do anything about-- he had no moral imperative to listen to it.

I found an IP lookup, and this girl who was supposed to be in London (And she can't get help?) resolved to Atlanta GA.

There are people with false profiles all over the net and I happen to know some companies encourage this practice. Some times research students will create profiles to ask questions and gather data.

At least LIT hasn't bought into integrating FB as a logon method.

I don't think it's too difficult to spot phonies and freaks, unless you're pretty naive and/or asleep at the wheel. But that doesn't mean people can't occasionally get past one's personal radar. It certainly makes you more wary and wily from that point on.

I agree you have to be careful. I was talking to a young lady & early on I found out she was 16. End of conversation. Even here screwy things happen. There is a young "lady" I talked to. Got a nice picture, talked on yahoo , just casual/friendly coversatio. She was studying & took chat breaks. We didn't talk for a while Then did again. Now she is a sex pot, always talking abot sex. I asked for a picture, got a completely different one. Asked her about that as yahoo has all the chats. Never heard from "her" again. Still see "her" here on Lit, changed her name a little bit, but still the same yahoo address.
