BDSM and the law

Gives one a reason to think more deeply about it looks like from "outside".

Thanks for the link.

Of course, laws vary, state to state. And I am no attorney but I know someone who is. Maybe he will read and have something to say about this. Or maybe not. It is kind of mundane.

Thank you for your input Lance,

I was hoping you would contribute to it.

I had forgotten to note that it was written a bit ago.

You are right.....I didn't read your entire post.

That's all we needed to hear.

I'm not saying anyone should rely on my advice

Lance: With all this in mind, your best advice is to look to your local lawyer or the free (often anon) information lines offered by most law societies and public defenders offices in your area.

Free legal advice is worth what you pay for it.

And it was returned per my request by Laurel. Thank you Risia and Laurel.

Now, after all this, I bet not one person posts to it again.

But it's here now and no one's rights are being violated by me. I am sorry that this caused such a controversy. I will attempt to avoid doing something like this in the future.

Why not, Rose? I think that the frank discussion that has been going on in this board since the Iron Curtain came down is a good thing.

I like to listen to all voices, even those that don't agree with me. Sometimes, I even find that I learn something new that way.

Well I was charged 10 years ago with assault in the second for hitting someone with a closed hand. Not Assault and Battery but Assault. Why debate sematics.

Interesting. I can say that MOST BDSM practices would be illegal here in Alabama. Oral is against the law. Anal is against the law. Possesion of sex toys is against the law. HOWEVER. One may beat ones wife on the courthouse steps on sunday with a rod of less tha one inch diameter. Kinda mixed message aint it.:D

Debate is a good thing

I do also Ruby, like to hear from many other perspectives. But you are missing my point. I really think it is much ado about nothing. This thread was not all that (LOL) wonderful to begin with.

Anyway, we will see. It's here now. Took me awhile to find all the right people to get it back. Darn that Risia, she thinks she can take a day off. ~smiling~

I hope Risia knows that her pay was docked accordingly for that day of luxury. I'm guessing she was at a day spa. That sort of sloughing off is simply not tolerated here at Literotica. She's lucky she still has a job.

Sex laws are odd. I'm familiar with them in a most intimate way.....for instance, fisting (all five fingers - four are ok) is obscene in many jurisdictions.

Silly stuff.

Don't even get me started on drug laws. A friend of mine here in Nevada just had to deal with her teenage son being arrested on a felony charge of marijuana use. Seems it's ok to possess it here but not smoke it. I guess it makes sense...personally, I use my pot to make a fertilizer tea for my house plants.

Will you cast your vote, Ruby?

I hope, as I am that you are a registered voter. I will be voting in favor of the constitutional amendment regarding marijuana in our state.
