BDSM and spelling

In quite a few BDSM stories, I have seen that i is always spelled with lower-case and Master or Sir always in upper-case.

I understand the logic behind, but to me, it looks too weird to be good.

What are your opinions about it?

Personally, I find the people who insist on talking about themselves in lower case intensely annoying. I've never met a dominant/top person who's insisted on it.

I could be snarky and say I've never read a decent story where they've done that i-don't-deserve-capitals thing, either.

What do you think about the sub calling herself "This sub, pet, toy or slave"
Sounds like the way a quirky Stat Trek alien would talk.

Come to think of it, what does everyone think about a harem (of either gender) referring to themselves as 'seven of nine'.

If they look like Jeri Ryan, especially the recent version of Seven in Picard, they can call themselves whatever they like! /shallow

Hoping the suggested spinoff of Seven and Raffi being badass happens at some point.

Funny, just finished watching the first season of Picard which was why it was on my mine. Damn, she has aged well.

It's not my thing, but apparently some people enjoy it. I expect the things I enjoy look just as weird to them. It's not mandatory for writing about BDSM.

I've used something close once or twice in my "modern harem" story, with the FMC referring to herself as "number three, and there are eight of us". It was mostly to explain her position in the hierarchy, secondary to introducing herself by her real name. I was surprised - as much as one can be surprised by their own creation - that she did this, because she is portrayed throughout as the MMC's primary love interest and partner in their business.

I think the lower-case 'i' looks a bit odd. On the other hand, I did a couple of tales written in FP in which the sub capitalized when referring to the dom. For example (and pushing it hard): I asked Him if He wished to take His overcoat. The intent was to emphasize the sub's adoration of the dom. It worked, I think.
